Lesli went to be with our Lord and Savior at 8:58 AM , July 31 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a short bout with cancer.
She was born May 16, 1970 in Hannibal , MO to Richard Pressley and Donna Jean Garrett Ross. They survive along with her two children Darren James (D.J.) and Valerie Schnepf, her sister Lori Jean (Jim) Bultemeier and niece Skye Desaree’ Bultemeier of Scales Mound, IL. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Claud L Earnest Garrett and Esther P Riechard Garrett Hibbard and step
grandfather C Dean Hibbard, Pressley M. and Frances Timora Gough Ross.
Lesli previously worked as manager for Namco Cybertainment in Bensenville , Il , District order manager for Miller Ace Hardware in Elk Grove , Il , B & A Plumbing in Schaumburg , IL and was presently employed at Wal-Mart as a stocker.
Lesli was an avid reader and involved in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts with her children.
A prayer service is planned for 5:00 P.M. Monday, Aug. 3, with Deacon Michael Crummer, with visitation to follow from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. at Watson Thomas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial at Corpus Chrisi Catholic Church Aug. 4, at 10:00 A.M. Rev. William T. Miller, IC will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a fund for the children.
Lesli was the sole support of her children and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Deborah G. Ferguson
Deborah G. Ferguson, age 49, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at OSF St.Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL on July 30, 2015 at 7:50 pm. Deborah was born on June 4, 1966 in Lexington, Kentucky and is the daughter of Raymond and Sue Shrout Ferguson. She was raised and educated in Lexington, Kentucky and it's local schools. Deborah received her General Education Degree in 1993 from Pass Adult Education here in Monmouth, IL. The family came to Monmouth in 1992 and Deborah was first employed as head cook at Pinewood Health Care Center. She later was the Deli manager at the former Econo Foods for many years. She was a very caring person and wanted to give others a better home to grow in than the one she knew before. She is survived by her son Jonathan (Kaylon Myers) Penney, two twin daughters, Hayleigh and Ashleigh Ferguson, four granddaughters and one grandson, all of Monmouth, IL. There are numerous other children surviving. Four sisters survive, Teresa Grigsby of Lexington, KY, Anita "Corky" Beasley of Tyrone, KY, Donna (Bill) Bachman of St. Cloud, Minn, and "T" Bresnahan of Monmouth, Illinois. Also a number of other relatives are surviving. She is preceded in her death by her grandparents and parents.

Carol West Krueger
Carol West Krueger, 77, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 after a brief but hard fought battle.
Carol was born in Galesburg on May 4, 1938, the daughter of Helen Jo (Bondi) and Joseph E. West. She was a 1956 graduate of Galesburg High School, and a graduate of Northwestern University.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Krueger, and by her brother, Thomas G. West. She is survived by her sons Jeffrey (Jen), Jerald (Julie) and Thomas (Paula) Krueger; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Carol is also survived by her sisters-in-law Janet West and Carol Carlisle; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Annabel I. Spurgeon
Annabel I. Spurgeon, 98, of Knoxville, Illinois, passed away peacefully in the presence of loving family on July 25, 2015 at her home in Knoxville, Il.

She was raised on the family farm in Abingdon, Illinois. She attended Cherry Grove grade school and graduated from Abingdon High School. She attended teachers college at Western Illinois University and later attended Carl Sandburg College’s LPN school of nursing.
Annabel worked at Cottage Hospital as an LPN and later worked for Dr. Caruso’s office as a medical secretary.
Annabel was an active member of the Knoxville United Methodist Church where she was past president of the women’s society, youth leader, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and church office secretary. She was a past president of the PTA at Knoxville High School. She was also a member of the Timber Street Neighbors Club and past Chaplain, Vice Regent, and member of the Lucretia Leffingwell Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by two sons, James R. (Kathy) Spurgeon of Jupiter, Florida, John (Eloise) Spurgeon of East Galesburg, Illinois; three daughters, Dr. Irene (Peter) Caruso of Galesburg, Illinois, Marian (Rev. J.L) Penfold of Greeley Colorado, Carol Scislowicz of Peoria, Illinois, and Margaret Mockler of Knoxville, Illinois; twenty-two grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, S. Max Spurgeon, two brothers, and
three sisters.

Mr. D. Terry Like, 71, of Galesburg died at 4 a.m. Sunday, July 26, 2015 at home.
He was born March 10, 1944 in Avon, Illinois the son of Donald Perry and Clara Jean Holloway Like. He married Shirley J. Wessels on August 10, 1984 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2013.
He is survived by five children, Joe (and Jenny) Like of Canton, Illinois, Lisa (and John) Goodwin of Pekin, Illinois, David (and Tana) Hare of Galesburg, Denise (and Ken) Padilla of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Diane (and Matt) Hoben of North Richland Hills, Texas; one sister, Jeanine (and Tim) Sundquist of Galesburg; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Terry Paul, Brittney, Jesse, David Ray, Jennifer, and Katie; and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Debbie Mallas; and two granddaughters, Dayana and Kaylee.
Terry worked ground maintenance for Knox College for 46 years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Terry loved to fish and spending time outdoors.

Marcelyn “Marcy” Miller, 90, of Monmouth, IL died Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Courtyard Estates of Monmouth, IL.
She was born on November 10, 1924 in Henderson County, Oquawka, the daughter of John Carl and Bessie Edith (Radmacher) Meyer.
Marcy attended Liberty grade school in Rozetta Township. She graduated from Biggsville High School in 1941. She attended the College of Commerce in Burlington, Ia. until she accepted a bookkeeping position at the Farm Service Company in Stronghurst. She also worked for Illinois Bankers Life Assurance Co. in Monmouth in the Accident and Health Department and at Thompson Motor Sales.
She married Eugene ‘Gene’ Miller on June 16, 1946 on the Meyer family farm near Rozetta. They farmed in Lenox Township until they retired in 1996. She loved her home, her family and the country life. She was always a supportive helpmate of Gene, the latter twenty years she kept records for her his crop insurance business. They were leaders of the 4-H club of Lenox Township.
Marcy joined the United Presbyterian Church (now United Methodist) in Oquawka, IL at an early age and taught Sunday school classes. She transferred to the Fairview Center United Methodist Church where she was an active member for many years. She served as a Sunday school teacher, Elementary Superintendent, Director of the Daily Vacation Bible School, Trustee of the Church and on various church committees.
She was an active charter member of the Grow and Glow class, and of the Ladies’ Aid and The Women’s Missionary Society. She served as General Chairman as the three missionary circles were formed. She also held the office of president of the Esther Circle and Ruth Circle. She was a member of the Delta Sigma Chapter and exemplar chapter (Xi Gamma Chi) of Beta Sigma Phi.
Marcy was a devoted wife to Gene, mother to her children Kevin and Kim and her grandchildren. She also cared for her mother, Bessie Meyer in her home for 8 years until her death in 1989 at age 99. For the past three years she has enjoyed spending time with her friend Steve Ohler. Marcy enjoyed music, poetry, antiques, reading, genealogy, and traveling.
Surviving Marcelyn is one son, Kevin Miller of Oquawka, IL, one daughter, Kim Cridelich (Steve) of Wisconsin, six grandchildren; Joe Dixon (Kendra) of Dunfermline, IL, Ryan Dixon of Marquette Heights, IL, Erin Elliott (Doug) of Cameron, IL, Brock Miller of Biggsville, IL, Seth Cridelich (Erica) of Port Orchard, WA, Abbe Cridelich of Wisconsin, four great grandchildren; Lily and Ella Dixon and Miller and Huntley Elliott, one sister-in-law Pauline Shoemaker of Monmouth, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cecil David Townsend, 55, of Abingdon, died peacefully at home Sunday, July 26, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

Dave was born January 31, 1960 in Vicenza, Italy. He is survived by his parents Oscar Lee and Mary Lou (Shepherd) Riley both of Abingdon. He married Dodie Sue Watters on October 29, 1999 in Galesburg. She survives of Abingdon. Dave is also survived by one step son Ozzy Greene of Canton; one step daughter, Ashley Greene of Abingdon; one granddaughter, Kaelyn Paige Greene-Gerstsel; and two grandsons, Wyatt Keith Greene, and Ryker Gentry Greene. He was preceded in death by one sister, Syndy Lue Townsend and one brother, Norman Wayne Townsend.
After high school, Dave enlisted in the US Navy serving from 1987 to 1993. He spent the last 17 years working for Galesburg Electric, working for Craig Johnson, owner, Don Gillenwater, CEO, and Shannon Johnson. They were the best of friends, people, and company to work with. Thank you for the years. Dave was a family man, spending all his free time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Kaelyn who lived with them, she was the child he never had.

Geneva J. Medhurst, 87, of Alexis, IL died at 12:52 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg.

Geneva married Walter “Red” Medhurst in Seaton, IL on December 11, 1949 and he died October 3, 2003.
Geneva was a teacher and homemaker. She was a 4th grade teacher of the Alexis C.U.S.D. 400 for 27 years retiring in 2002.
She was a member of Countryside Bible Church, Retired Teachers Association, 4-H Leader, Choir Director and the Red Hatters. Geneva was an accomplished musician and organist; she played for over 50 years at local churches for many weddings and funerals.
Surviving is her daughter Susie (Joey) Pokorny of Petersburg, IL, one son, Sam (Rhonda) Medhurst of Alexis, 6 grandchildren; Maggie (Kris) Cunningham of Springfield, IL, Heidi (Russell) Moore of Dallas, TX, Patrick Pokorny of Ipava, IL, Jake (Jenni) Medhurst of Abingdon, Gary (Keri) Medhurst and Megan Meghurst both of Alexis; 6 great grandchildren, William, Brooks and Juliet Moore, Liam, Andrew and Collin Cunningham.

Beverly A. Oswald
Beverly A. Oswald, age 80, formerly of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 8:35 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center in Moline, Illinois. She was born May 23, 1935 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Lora (Black) Oswald. Beverly grew up in Monmouth, and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1953. She continued her education at Western Illinois University in Macomb where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. At that time, she was the only female student in many of her chemistry and math classes. Beverly began her teaching career in the East St. Louis-Cahokia School District. She then moved back to Monmouth and taught at Warren High School, retiring in 1971 due to her health. She was of the Baptist Faith. Beverly is survived by one sister, Barbara (Max) Biddle of St. Charles, Illinois; two nephews, Stephen (Karen) Biddle of South Elgin, Illinois, and Don (Lora) Biddle of Geneva, Illinois; one niece, Lora (Tony) Wey of Bloomington, Illinois; five great nephews and nieces, and four great-great nephews and nieces. Among her seven surviving cousins are Carol Carlberg of Roseville, John Carlberg of Macomb, and Bill (Mary) Oswald of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, one great nephew, and four cousins.

James G. McCurdy
James G. McCurdy, age 86, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 1:10 am on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on April 26, 1929 in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of Clarence E. and Irene A. (McDaniel) McCurdy. He was a graduate of Wyoming, IL High School. Jim attended college at the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL, earning his BS in Vocational Agriculture and his MS in Agricultural Industries. He also attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale for a time. Jim proudly served his country from 1951-1953 in the United States Army where he attained the rank of Sgt. with the Aviation Engineers. On June 20, 1953, Jim married Caroline G. Aschenbrenner at the Congregational Church in Amboy, Illinois and she is surviving. Jim enjoyed a 41 year career with the University of Illinois Extension Service. He was the assistant farm advisor in Lee and Kane Counties, associate adviser in LaSalle County, and Farm Advisor (later Extension Advisor-Agriculture) in Edwards and Warren Counties. Jim belonged to many organizations throughout his career including the National Association of Co. Ag. Agents, the North Central Chapter of Public Relations, Illinois Extension Advisers Association (past president), Epsilon Sigma Phi (past president of Illinois Chapter), Alpha Zeta, Alpha Tau Alpha, and Phi Kappa Phi. He also served as an Elder, Sunday School Teacher, and cooked for the Church after school program. Jim was a Rotary past president and Paul Harris Fellow, served on the Hospital Board for 11 years (President for 2 years), elected to the Monmouth School Board of Education (President for 7 years), member of the Commerce Board, and member of the United Way-Rural Chapter. He was proud to be a 21+ gallon donor with the Army, Red Cross, and Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center. Jim is survived by his wife, Caroline; son, Mark (Lora) McCurdy of Petersburg, Illinois; two daughters, Beth Swedeen of Madison, Wisconsin and Lynn Bowman of Monmouth, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Amelia and Cara Swedeen; Megan, Andrew, Katie, Michael McCurdy; and Amanda Bowman. Two sisters also survive, Rosemary Eckstein of Peoria, Illinois and Martha Mosher of Washington, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald McCurdy of Wyoming, Illinois.

Robert L. Mills, age 83 of Knoxville, Illinois died on Monday, July 20, 2015 at his son’s home in Knoxville, Illinois.
He was born on October 11, 1931 in Brimfield, Illinois the son of C.C. and Nina Towne Mills. He attended Williamsfield schools, then Knoxville schools where he graduated in 1950. He married Evelyn Mary Carlson on September 12, 1954 in Galesburg, Illinois.
Surviving is his wife, Evelyn Mills of Knoxville, Illinois; a son, Steven (Sandy) Mills of Knoxville, Illinois; two grandchildren: Aaron (Betsy) Mills of Henderson, Illinois and Cassie (Dillon) Causey of Knoxville, Illinois; six great grandchildren: Jaxn Mills, Treyson Mills, Lily Causey, Landon Mills, Caleb Mills and Lucas Causey. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
He worked for Maytag as an assembler, retiring after 35 years. He served in the United States Air Force from August 31, 1950 to August 30, 1954. He was a clerk/typist, stationed in Greenland, Newfoundland and Florida. He and his son went on the “Honor Flight” to Washington D.C. in 2014. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Knoxville, Illinois, Little Swan Lake, and Little John Conservation Club. Above all he loved his family and church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being outdoors. He was always available to help anyone in need.

Louise Ella Tinkham Hillman Altheide, 101, of Prairie City formerly of Avon, IL passed away at 11:05 AM Tuesday July 21, 2015 at the Prairie City Health Care Center. She was born December 5, 1913 in Abingdon, IL to Ben and Edith (Wiles) Tinkham. She married Wayne Hillman, he preceded her in death in 1971. She later married Harold Altheide, he also preceded her in death in 1985.
She is survived by four children, Geraldine (Bob) Gittings of Little York, IL; Marilyn (Stuart) Schrodt of Abingdon, IL; Donna (Ed) Neel of Bushnell, IL; Wayne (Jeanie) Hillman of Camden, IL; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 13 siblings and one daughter, Darlene Brooks.
Louise enjoyed embroidering and was a fantastic cook. She was the very first Cook at the Prairie City Nursing Home where she worked many years until her retirement. She was the niece of Harry Wiles of Abingdon.

Mrs. Virginia G. “Ginny” Kilgore, 80, of Galesburg died at 11:15 pm Monday, July 20, 2015 in Seminary Manor Nursing Home.
She was born January 27, 1935 in Monmouth, Illinois the daughter of James H. and Clara Ranney Ryner. She married Robert M. Kilgore on April 30, 1955 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2008.
Ginny is survived by her three sons, Michael (and Robin) Kilgore of Galesburg, Kelly (and Niki) Kilgore of Hernando, Mississippi and John (and Melinda) Kilgore of Galesburg; her two daughters Nancy (and Russell) Wong and Kathy (and Curtis Crawford) Kilgore of Galesburg; two brothers, Charlie Ryner and Dean (and Pauline) Ryner both of Galesburg; eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, James Ryner, two sisters, Beth Aden and Maxine Taylor and one grandson, Robert Kilgore.
Ginny worked in the St. Mary Hospital cafeteria, retiring in 1997. She had also worked for New China Café until 2012. She graduated from Alexis High School. Ginny was a member of the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 285. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy. She also enjoyed going to the casino river boats. She enjoyed being surrounded by her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Allen Edward Bowling, age 28 of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 6:45 pm at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. He was born on October 31, 1986 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Harlan E. and Peggy (Giddings) Bowling. Allen attended school here in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth/Roseville High School with the Class of 2006. Allen was best known for his positive attitude. He was proud to be an uncle to his niece and nephew and loved to shower them with his thrifty gifts. Allen was well know for his love of making nachos. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. She is survived by her one child, Ron Steward, of Springfield, Illinois, two brothers Jim (Cindy) Cation of rural Galesburg and Ron (Sharon) Cation of Ohio, five nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Everett, her parents and one sister, Janet Clark.

She worked the switchboard at the Williamsfield Telephone Company and later for Burlington Truck Lines in Galesburg, Illinois. After marriage, she was a housewife and full time mother living in and around Altona. Joan enjoyed bowling with good friends for many years and later in life became an avid NASCAR fan. She was a life member of the NRA. Marilyn spent many of her last years receiving dialysis treatments where she found good and supportive friends. Her humble, considerate nature endeared her to many. Both she and her husband, had decided they did not want a funeral or services and her wishes will be complied with. Consistent with her undemanding nature, anyone so inclined may make a memorial donation to an organization of the giver’s choosing.

Nathan R. Giles, 31, of Monmouth, passed away at 6:40 a.m., Monday, July 20, 2015 at his home.
Nathan was born March 22, 1984 in Galesburg, IL the son of Steven R. and Roxanna L. (Lodwick) Giles. He was raised and educated in Little York and Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School.
Nathan worked as a roofer for a few years. He most recently worked at Farmland Foods in Monmouth.
He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and was an avid Military buff. He loved spending time with his children.

David W. Levine, age 80, formerly of Monmouth, IL passed away at The Quarters nursing facility in Des Peres, Missouri on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 2:25 am. David was born on May 25, 1935 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Herbert E. and Pearl Walters Levine. He received his education in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School with the Class of 1953. David later attended Monmouth College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1960 where he attained the rank of Sgt. David married Dorothy M. Meyers on June 21, 1958 in Monmouth, Illinois and she preceded him in death on March 17, 1985. He loved the game of golf and was an active member of Gibson Woods Golf Course here in Monmouth. David is survived by two daughters, Allison (Bill) Martin of Chesterfield, MO and Celinda (Tommy Lewis) Sage of New Boston, IL; one son, David Paul (Alison) Levine of St. Peters, MO; seven grandchildren, Rawly (Joelle) Lantz, Dustin Levine, Shannon (Kostya) Kekhaev, Holly (Mike) Schumaker, Johnny Sage, Matthew Sage, and Jack Martin; three sisters, Carol (Bob) Schoellkopf of Cincinnati, OH, Carna Mechem of Midlothian, VA, and Christa (Bernie) Sutinis of Fairview TN; and one brother, Paul Levine of Sacramento, CA. and eight great-grandchildren. Wanda I. Marquis
Mrs. Wanda I. Marquis, 81, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 5:30 pm Sunday, July 19, 2015 in Knox County Nursing Home Knoxville, Illinois.
She was born May 7, 1934 in Galesburg, the daughter of George and Mabel Pratt McCall. She married Herbert E. Marquis on June 11, 1955 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2003.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Marquis of Galesburg; her daughter, Doreen (Dennis) Vold of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; her sister, Dorothy Morrison of Glasford, Illinois and three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and a step sister.
Wanda worked as a psychiatric aid at the former Galesburg Research Hospital for 8 years. She had also worked as an aid and receptionist at Cottage Hospital for 17 years. She later worked as a clerk Knox Laundry for 7 years. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1952. Wanda was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Red Hat Club.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:30 am Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Mr. Dale E. Adcock, 86, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 6:15 pm Sunday, July 19, 2015 at his home.
He was born September 7, 1928 in Knoxville, Illinois the son of Ross and Clara Higgins Adcock. He married Marilyn “Jane” Gladson on May 16, 1947 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Jerry (and Julia) Adcock of Milan, Illinois and David (and Terry) Adcock of Urbana, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jonas (and Laura) Adcock, Zack (and Karen) Adcock, Dan (and Christina) Adcock and Alex Adcock; two great grandchildren, Tessa and Benjamin Adcock and many special nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Wayne Adcock and three sisters, Shirley Rice, Velma Stohl and Marilyn Blythe.
Dale worked as a salesman for Brown Specialty Company for 42 years, retiring in 1991. He also worked for Hi-Lo Grocery in Abingdon for 20 years. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1946. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Dale loved his church and served as a Sunday School Superintendent. Dale enjoyed woodworking and watching Cardinal baseball.

Jerry L. Bailey
Jerry L. Bailey, age 49, of Gladstone, Illinois, passed away at 3:22 am on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. He was born on August 15, 1965, in Burlington, Iowa the son of Raymond E. "Pete" and Paula Kay (Rhoades) Bailey. Jerry attended schools in the Gladstone School District. On September 20, 2003, he married Jo Adams at the South Henderson Church in Gladstone, Illinois and she survives. Jerry began work with Kurt McChesney as a farmhand and Don Zurmuehlen as a farmhand and electrician. He lastly worked for Stan Torrance Farms. Jerry enjoyed mushrooming, fishing, and storm chasing around the area. He loved to work and was always there to help someone who needed a hand. Jerry will be remembered as a loving Dad, Son, Husband, and Grandpa. He much enjoyed his time with the grandchildren..."but not for very long at one time." Jerry will be missed greatly by those lives he touched. He is survived by wife Jo of Gladstone; his parents, "Pete" and Paula; children, Bindi, Jenna (Zach), Nick (Ally), Brandon, Erin (Mitch); three brothers, Bob (Barb) Bailey, Mike (Debbie) Bailey, and Jay (Sherry) Bailey; one sister, Luann Walker; mother-in-law JoAnne Adams, and eight grandchildren. Don A. “Skip” Baldridge, 65, of Monmouth, passed away at 5:08 p.m., Sunday, July 19, 2015, at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.
He was born on October 31, 1949 in Monmouth, and is the son of Donald and Nedra (White) Baldridge. He was raised and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School.
Don was a roofer for many years; he was the third generation of his family to operate Baldridge Roofing. Don worked for a time as a firefighter for the City of Monmouth. He also worked at Gale Products in Galesburg, Equipco in Monmouth, and was the regional service manager for Coca-Cola. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking-especially a good fish fry, and helping people.
He is survived by his mother Nedra Baldridge of Monmouth, one son Bret Baldridge (Michile) of Monroe, LA, two daughters; Ronna Perez (Steve) of Galesburg, IL, Chrissy Rafford (Patrick) of Maine, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Sue married Larry Trego on February 2, 1968 in Abingdon, IL, he survives.
Sue was a homemaker, her family was her life. She worked for a time at Head Start in Monmouth as a bus driver. Sue also worked at Haase Embroidery in Monmouth for several years. She enjoyed watching her children’s sporting events over the years, and now spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving Sue is her husband, Larry Trego of Monmouth, five sons; Roger Trego (Bonnie) of Galesburg, IL, Chuck Trego (Tonia) of Monmouth, Randy Trego (Andrea) of Monmouth, Troy Trego of Monmouth, Tony Trego (Kelly) of Monmouth, thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, with two more on the way. James M. Self, age 80, of Williamsfield, Illinois died at 3:13 A.M. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at OSF ST. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

During the late 1970’s he and his brother owned and operated Self Standard Station in Williamsfield, Illinois. He was an avid Cardinal Fan and a “Hands on” grandpa to his grandkids.

Raymond "Clyde" Seitz
Raymond "Clyde" Seitz, age 85, of Oquawka, Illinois passed away at Genesis East Campus in Davenport, Iowa on July 14, 2015 at 4:15 pm. Clyde was born on September 3, 1929 in Carman, Illinois and he is the son of Jake and Florence Mason Seitz. He was raised in Biggsville, Illinois where he attended the local schools and graduated from Biggsville High School. Clyde married Gladys L. Freeman on December 23, 1957 in Keithsburg, IL and she is surviving. Clyde was employed 38 years at Chittenden and Eastman Company in Burlington, IA and retired in 1992. He has been a member and president of the Oquawka Senior Citizens group and actively assisted a number of Seniors with their daily activities. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their ball games. Clyde is an avid Cubs and avid Illini Fan.
Surviving is his wife, Gladys of Oquawka, Illinois and two daughters, Luanne (Luke) Rice of Wataga, Il and Christie (Jake) Stewart of Oquawka, Illinois. He has two grandchildren Amber (Luke) Taeger and Justin Stewart and one great grandchild Jack Taeger. A nephew raised with Clyde is Melvin Seitz of Oquawka, IL also survives. A number of other relatives also survive. He is preceded in his death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Interment will be in the Oquawka Cemetery. Surviving is his wife, Gladys of Oquawka, Illinois and two daughters, Luanne (Luke) Rice of Wataga, Il and Christie (Jake) Stewart of Oquawka, Illinois. He has two grandchildren Amber (Luke) Taeger and Justin Stewart and one great grandchild Jack Taeger. A nephew raised with Clyde is Melvin Seitz of Oquawka, IL also survives. A number of other relatives also survive. He is preceded in his death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Interment will be in the Oquawka Cemetery. John W. Moburg
John W. Moburg, age 85, passed away at 2:35 pm on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center with his family and friends at his side. The hours before were spent laughing and reminiscing. John was born on November 24, 1929 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Ernest R. and Edna O. (Swanson) Moburg. John was raised and educated in the area where he graduated from Monmouth High School. He served in the United States Army. On September 29, 1955, John married Margy K. Miller in Piedmont, MO and they spent the next 59 years at each others side. John farmed in Warren County from 1956-1990. He later worked at the Monsanto Research Farm, Peoples Do-It Center in Monmouth, and Farm King in Monmouth. He also was co-owner of The Barnstormer Restaurant in Monmouth. John served on the Yorkwood School Board where he served as President in 1979, 1980, and 1981. John also served on the Board of Directors at United Federal Savings and Loan Association and served as President of the Warren County Prime Beef Festival. He also served on the Council of the First Lutheran Church in Monmouth. John was a long time member of the Church. John and Margy were members of the Lake Warren Association and enjoyed spending time there. He much enjoyed baseball and roller skating. John will be remembered for his jokes, storytelling, and infectious laugh. He never knew a stranger. He is survived by his wife Margy of Monmouth, two daughters; Vickie (Ron) Mohr of Mediapolis, IA and Teresa G. Moburg of Aurora, IL, two sons; Greg (Christeen) Moburg of Georgetown, IN and Todd W. Moburg of West Palm Beach, FL, six grandchildren; Derek, Jordan, Taylor, and Eric Mohr, Kelsey and Allie Moburg. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Gilbert and Leon.

Clover Burge
Clover Burge, age 100, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 10:35 A.M. on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois.
She was born on April 14, 1915 the daughter of Joseph and Bertha Gertrude Wooter Hall. She married Glenn O. Burge on May 29, 2043 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1965.

Mrs. Minnie Mae Hylton, 78, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 12:20 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in Marigold Health Care Center.
She was born October 17, 1936 in West Point, Mississippi the daughter of James and Grace Cobb Tallie. She married William Fred Brown in Mississippi and later married Robert Hylton in Chicago.
Minnie is survived by her two daughters, Minnie B. Brown of Galesburg and Mattie L. (Wallace) Brown of Chicago; her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Tallie of West Point, Mississippi; her brother, Willie James (Thelma) Tallie of Kansas City, Kansas; two sisters, Freddie Mae (Andrew) Young of West Point and Magnolia (Roosevelt) Nole of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren; thirty four great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Jimmie Lee Tallie, her daughter, Albelene Felton, six brothers, David, John Henry, Henderson, Willie Lee, Eddie and James Tallie, Jr., three sisters Clara Bell Randle, Martha Strong and Gracie Brown, her granddaughter, Kartina L. Brown, her niece, Caroline (Ramon) Jackson and her cousin, Ceaster Tallie.
Minnie worked for the Zenith Company in Chicago for 13 years. She was baptized in the Baptist faith. Minnie enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos, going for walks, and reading her Bible. Minnie truly enjoyed her time spent with family.

Mr. Thomas W. Cheline, 62, of Aledo, Illinois died at 8:49 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.
He was born November 7, 1952 in Galesburg, Illinois to Robert Raymond and Elizabeth Freberg Cheline. He married Nancy M. Carlson November 29, 1980 in North Henderson, Illinois. She preceded him in death July 24, 1993.
Surviving are two daughters, Molly Cheline of Aledo and Kelly (and Kyle) Cratty of Aurora, Illinois; five brothers, Ed (and Sue) Cheline of Rio, Illinois, Dick (and Connie) Cheline of Altona, Illinois, Jack (and Linda) Cheline of Kewanee, Illinois, Ray Cheline of Princeton, Illinois, and Larry (and Michelle) Cheline of Galva, Illinois; his sister, Linda (and Pete) Van DeVelde of Galva; several nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Sue (and Bill) Barrington of Little York, Illinois and Gus (and Corie) Carlson of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Andy Cheline.
Tom graduated from Galva High School and attended the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois. He served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1974. He was a farmer and a master carpenter his entire life. He was a member of the Mount Vernon Cemetery Board.

Mrs. Stephanie A. Wheeler Johnson, 60, of Coal Valley, Illinois died at 10:50 pm Monday, July 13, 2015 in Hospice House of Clarisa Cook in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Stephanie was born January 7, 1955 in Bloomington, Illinois the daughter of Earl Wheeler and Patricia Sutter Wheeler O’Malley. She married Daniel K. Johnson on August 29, 1981 in Bloomington.
Along with being a devoted and loving mother and wife, Stephanie had also worked over 25 years as a medical office manager in the Bloomington/Normal and Quad City area. Stephanie also served a short stint as a Deputy Sheriff and Bailiff for Knox County. She graduated from Bloomington Central Catholic School and attended Clinton Community College in Clinton, Iowa. She was a former member of the Epiphany Catholic Church in Normal, Illinois.
Stephanie is survived by her husband of nearly 34 years, Dan, her daughter, Trisha (Zack) Cox of Aledo, Illinois; her stepson, Michael (Vanessa) Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; her brother, Thomas (Gerry) Wheeler of Pontiac, Illinois; her sister, Karen McDowell of Bloomington; her Mother-in-Law, Donna McCarthy of Galesburg, and her aunt and uncle Jim and Jo Sutter of Seymour, Iowa. Martha Lee Connell
Martha Lee Connell, age 86, of Biggsvlle, IL, formerly of Monmouth, passed away at 6:10 pm on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, Illinois. She was born on November 14, 1928 in Monmouth the daughter of Clarence A. and Doris (Lee) Bailey. Martha Lee received her education at Immaculate Conception Grade School and Monmouth High School, graduating with the Class of 1946. On June 26, 1948, Martha Lee married James T. Connell, Jr. and the Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth and he preceded her in death on January 3, 1996. She was a life long member of the Immaculate Conception Parish. Martha Lee loved the game of bridge and always attended the OGM Bridge Club locally. She loved flowers and took great care of her garden. Martha Lee is survived by one daughter, Susan Lee Connor of Indianapolis, IN, one son, James Thomas "Chip" (Brenda) Connell III of Burlington, IA, one granddaughter, Molly Lee Connor of Indianapolis, niece Lisa Harrell, and nephews, Mike, Matt, and Mark Bailey. One brother, Dr. George William (Patricia) Bailey of Baton Rouge, LA also survives. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and half sister, Rosemary Bailey Daniels.

Chester L. Wheeler, 79, of Abingdon, died at 11:26 a.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Chester was born April 24, 1936 at home in Carbon Cliff, the son of Chester William and Mary Cervenski Wheeler. He went on to graduate from East Moline High School. Chester married Bonnie Jean Bloomberg on September 15, 1956 in Silvis. Chester is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bonnie of Abingdon; three daughters, Brenda Wheeler of Huntington Beach, CA, Dianna (Tom Turner) Marthers of Pekin, and Susen (Mark) Patterson of Oak Ridge, TN; and one brother, John (Lois) Wheeler of Cambridge. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandi Thompson, Jennifer (Tyler Allison) Marthers, Kevin Patterson and Katherine Patterson; and four great grandchildren, Patrick Thompson, Bella Caborlies, Drake and Harper Allison.
Chester worked for the railroad for 42 years, starting at the Rock Island Lines and retiring as a carman from Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad. He was an avid NASCAR fan and devoted Chicago Bears football fan. Chester was not known to have idle hands, he enjoyed woodworking and working in the yard. His family said he could fix anything, and in fact rebuilt an entire Mustang. He was of the Methodist faith.
Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Abingdon Methodist Church. All friends and family are invited. Mrs. Marilyn K. Clawson, 83, of Alexis, Illinois, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 in Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born Marilyn Murriel Kirby on January 23, 1932, in Attica, Indiana, the daughter of Russell and Stella (Solomon) Kirby. She was married from 1952-1979 to Dr. Robert L. Clawson. She later married Andrew McCauley, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey T. Clawson of Albion, Iowa; two daughters, Bonnie (and Craig) Inman of Kansas City, Missouri, and Marilou (and Duane) Mol of Alexis, Illinois; one grandson, Joshua Clawson; four sisters, Jennie Bennett and Dorothy McMurtrie, both of Attica, Indiana, Margaret Bell of Lafayette, Indiana, and Sharla (and Gil) Quinones of Stockton, California; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and Clifford, and two sisters, Geraldine and Gwen.
Marilyn graduated from Attica High School, where she was a Red Rambler Cheerleader. She competed in the Miss Indiana pageant and was voted Miss Congeniality. After raising her children, she became a branch manager at Manpower Temporary Services, both in Marshalltown, Iowa, and in the San Francisco Bay area. She loved to sing, and performed semi-professionally with a band for many years. She was a member of the Bach-to-Bop Club in Marshalltown, and also performed with the Vaudeville Club in San Francisco. She moved to the Galesburg, Illinois, area five years ago and attended the First Methodist Church.
Marilyn loved her family, friends, her children, and her grandson. She also loved animals and especially her pets.

Clawson of Albion, Iowa; two daughters, Bonnie (and Craig) Inman of Kansas City, Missouri, and Marilou (and Duane) Mol of Alexis, Illinois; one grandson, Joshua Clawson; four sisters, Jennie Bennett and Dorothy McMurtrie, both of Attica, Indiana, Margaret Bell of Lafayette, Indiana, and Sharla (and Gil) Quinones of Stockton, California; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and Clifford, and two sisters, Geraldine and Gwen.
Marilyn graduated from Attica High School, where she was a Red Rambler Cheerleader. She competed in the Miss Indiana pageant and was voted Miss Congeniality. After raising her children, she became a branch manager at Manpower Temporary Services, both in Marshalltown, Iowa, and in the San Francisco Bay area. She loved to sing, and performed semi-professionally with a band for many years. She was a member of the Bach-to-Bop Club in Marshalltown, and also performed with the Vaudeville Club in San Francisco. She moved to the Galesburg, Illinois, area five years ago and attended the First Methodist Church.
Marilyn loved her family, friends, her children, and her grandson. She also loved animals and especially her pets.

Tony D. Randolph, 55, of Henderson, IL, formerly of Monmouth, died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015 at his home.
Tony was born April 20, 1960 in Avon, IL the son of Robert L. and Betty Lou (Ault) Randolph, He was raised and educated in Cameron, graduating from Warren high School in 1978.
Tony married Patti Carrico in Monmouth on January 30, 2004 and she survives.
Tony was a truck driver his entire adult life. He began working for Winkler Feed when he graduated from high school and later worked as an independent owner /operator. Tony also worked for Chandler Trucking, Volbracht Trucking and most recently Tennant Truck line in Colona, IL.
He loved John Deere tractors, yard work, yard sales, old cars and NASCAR. He enjoyed spending time and spoiling his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters, Jenna Randolph of Gautier, MS and Emily Trimble of Monmouth; 2 sons, David (Jan) Randolph of Yuma, AZ and Nathan (Angie) Trimble of Peoria, IL; 6 grandchildren; his sister, Sue (Dan) Elliott of Cameron, IL; brother, Marshall (Kim) Randolph of Monmouth; Step mother, Barbara Randolph of Murfreesboro, TN; mother in law, Evaleen Carrico of Galesburg; sisters in laws, Donna (Randy) Chesnut of Galesburg and Linda (Fred) Cundiff of Roseville; brothers in laws, Michael Carrico of Davenport, IA and Terry (Norma) Carrico of Milo, IA; several nieces and nephews.

Suzanne M. Lescher
Suzanne M. Lescher, age 71, of Little York, Illinois passed away at 3:04 am on Friday, July 10, 2015 at her Little York residence. She was born June 15, 1944 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Maurice Arthur and Dorothy Alene Moon Lescher. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Yorkwood High School with the class of 1963. Suzanne began work and Community Memorial Hospital as a surgical technician and served in that capacity for 20 years. She then became the Head of Material Management and the hospital for 11 years until her retirement. Suzanne is survived by numerous cousins to include Charlie and Gloria Geer, Adam, Maggie, and Luke Geer of Monmouth, IL and Janet Alex of Kansas City, Kansas. Also many special friends are surviving. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Terrance, and her best bud "Molly".
A funeral mass is planned for Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church of Monmouth. Rosanne Agnes McIlravy, 99, of Galesburg, died at 12:40 P.M. Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Galesburg.
Rosanne was born April 19, 1916 in Galesburg, the daughter of James Edward and Elizabeth H. Mattimore Watters.
Rosanne is survived by one daughter, Margaret Ann McIlravy of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her son, John Paul McIlravy, her parents, and one brother, James Watters.
Rosanne was a devout and active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and led praying of the rosary for many years. She was also a member of the National Catholic Order of Foresters and was a member of the Third Order of Lay Carmelite’s. Before retirement, she had been employed for many years at A. Rinella and Sons Produce Co., Rowe Manufacturing, and Admiral.

James A. McGlothlin
James A. McGlothlin, 50 of Parsons, Kansas and formerly of Abingdon, died Tuesday morning, July 7, 2015 at his home in Parsons.
He was born September 28, 1964 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to James Wayne and Diana Jean (Brownswell) McGlothlin.
On October 28, 1989, he and Sheri Edwards were married in Olathe, Kansas. She survives. In addition to his wife, survivors include, one daughter, Amber N. McGlothlin of Murrieta, California; two step-daughters, Heather Carlstead of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and Andrea Carlstead of Erie, Kansas; one grandson, Jespen McLaughlin of Erie, Kansas; his mother, Diana J. Edmonds of Galesburg; four sisters, Teresa Nelson of Altona, Melanie Gray of St. Augustine, Shari Naugle of Abingdon and Patty Smith of Galesburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James W. McGlothlin.
He grew up and attended schools in Abingdon and later earned an Associate degree at Labette Community College in Parsons. James was currently employed at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a respiratory therapist. He loved his grandson. James enjoyed classic cars, piddling in the garage, his Harley Street Glide, painting cars, and spending time with his dogs, Max and K.C.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons also assisted the family in arrangements.
