Ms. Elizabeth Ann (Beth) Jonsberg, 51, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 11:43 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at her home.
She was born on January 14, 1964, in Galesburg, to Aden Les and Darla Joan Altheide Nelson. She first married Todd Walter. She then married Barry Jonsberg.
Beth is survived by a son, James Michael Walter of Dublin, California; a brother, Brad Nelson of Shreveport, Louisiana; and a grandson, Lyman James Walter.
A fun loving, free spirit and passionate artist, Beth was known for her paintings and pencil sketchings. She held a special place in her heart for her dog, Chloe Rose.
She was a graduate of Galesburg High School and attended Carl Sandburg College. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Keele University in Staffordshire, England. Upon her return from England in 1998, Beth became the coordinator of campus visits for Knox College.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Jim Ecklund officiating. There will be no visitation. Lauren E. Still
Lauren E. Still, age 85, of Cameron, IL; passed away at 1:55 am at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, IL on October 29, 2015. Lauren was born on January 7, 1930 in Clinton, Iowa and is the son of Leland and Ethel Rodgers Still. Lauren moved to Galesburg as a boy where he was reared and educated in the Galesburg Schools. He then graduated from Galesburg High School with the class of 1949. Lauren married Lucille G Allen on June 26,1949 in Cameron, Illinois. He began farming in the area and has been an area farmer for many years. He also drove a Galesburg School District Bus for twenty-seven years. For the last twenty years he has been a Realtor and worked for Western Illinois Realty in Monmouth, Illinois. Lauren most loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and attended many of their events. He has been a long time member and active in the events of Cameron Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Still of Cameron, Illinois, two daughters, Karen (Bill) Hassel of Burlington, Iowa and Kimberly (Ron) King in Metamora, Illinois. One son is surviving, Kevin (Anne) Still of Danville, Indiana. He has nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also surviving. There are three sisters, Carol Hanson of Berwick, Illinois, Joan Markham of Galesburg, Illinois, and Mary (Bill) Anderson in the state of Georgia. Lauren is preceded in his death by his parents, one daughter Leanne, two infant sons, and one brother.

Donald F. Tatman, age 78, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 8:35 pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, Illinois. He was born on November 11, 1936 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of James and Madge (Ostrom) Tatman. Don was reared and educated in Monmouth where he attended Monmouth Schools and Monmouth High School. On June 14, 1957, Don married Phyllis Griffin in Kirkwood, Illinois and she is surviving. Don began work as a carhop at Staley's Restaurant here in Monmouth. He then worked for both the Ford Garage and Chevy Garage. Don worked together with his brother Robert in the auto sales business until they separated to start their own businesses. Don and Phyllis owned and operated Don Tatman Auto Sales in Monmouth for 35 years from which they retired in 2013. Don enjoyed going to flea markets and gun shows. He very much enjoyed fishing and hunting. Don is survived by his wife Phyllis of Monmouth, one daughter; Denise Tatman of Monmouth, two brothers; Robert (Mary) Tatman and Richard (Janet) Tatman, both of Monmouth, and one granddaughter; Jessica Campagna. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers; Charles, Raymond, Melvin, Howard, Harold, and two sisters; Erma and Lena.

Dolores E. Bowles, 78, of Galesburg, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, in Seminary Manor.
She was born February 28, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of John and Emma (Fowler) Baker. She married Thomas E. Bowles on June 12, 1955 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death August 5, 2002.
She is survived by two sons, Scott Bowles of Bloomington, Illinois and Skipper (and Brianna) Bowles of Macomb, Illinois; three daughters, Shelley (and Randy) Labak of Seattle, Washington, Sherry (and A.J.) Williams of Louisburg, North Carolina, and Susan (and Randy) Garcia of Inverness, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a lifelong friend, Ann Purlee of Galesburg. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Goeltzenleuchter; and her beloved dog, Minnie.

John Patrick Fox
John Patrick Fox, 71 of rural Galesburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015.
He was born November 28, 1943 in Galesburg, IL, the son of Philip Patrick and Anna Mae (Peake) Fox. He married Peggy Lea Gerhardt on February 12, 1966 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Quincy, Illinois. She preceded him in death on July 31, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Nora K. Fox and Phyllis M. Fox, and one granddaughter, Megan Rae Davison.
John is survived by one daughter, Bree Fox of Galesburg; four sons, Lance Fox of Columbia, Missouri, Shea (and Daphne) Fox of Manchester, Missouri, Chad (and Vilma) Fox of Cameron, Illinois, and Nick Fox of Abingdon, Illinois; fourteen grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Fox, of Bend, Oregon.
John graduated from Abingdon High School in 1962. He graduated from Gem City Business College and attended Gem City School of Horology. He lived most of his life in Abingdon and moved to rural Galesburg in 2007. He began employment with Galesburg Malleable in 1965 and it became Iowa Malleable Iron in 1977. In 1994 he purchased the facility and opened Galesburg Castings, Inc. and served as its President/CEO until his death.
He served for over sixteen years as a member of the Abingdon School Board, holding the positions of Secretary for six years and as President for four years. He served as the Legislative Chairman as a Director on the Board for the Western Division of the Illinois Association of School Boards.
He also served on the Board of Directors for the Center for Manufacturing Excellence. He was a member of the Illinois-Iowa-Nebraska Foundry Group and the American Foundry Society. He was a member of the Board of Directors for St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, IL.
He enjoyed reading, boating, motorcycling, riding ATV’s and stained glass making. He and his wife loved traveling the world. He was known for his quiet generosity and the way he could always see the good in anyone. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon. Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. Entombment will follow in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.

Dr. D. Wayne Green
Dr. D. Wayne Green, 91, of
Galesburg, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, in Galesburg
Cottage Hospital.
He was born June 19, 1924,
in Coldwater, Michigan, the son of Russell M. and Blanche (Beckwith)
Green. He married Darlene M. Mills on June 16, 1956 in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife
of 59 years, Darlene; two sons, David (and Kassie) Green of
Scottsdale, Arizona and Michael (and Megan) Green of Chicago; a
daughter, Nancy Green of Chicago; six grandchildren, Kimberly (and
Tanner), David (and Robin), Tyler, Samuel, Alexander, and Sonia; six
great grandchildren, Kiana, Caleb, Riley, Katie, Jaxson, and Logan; a
brother, Gerald Green of Woodstock, Connecticut; and a nephew, Steve
Green of Underhill, Vermont. He was preceded in death by his
parents.
Wayne was born, raised,
and educated in Coldwater, graduating from Coldwater High School in
1942. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1949 from Kalamazoo
College and his Ph.D. in 1954 from Ohio State University. He moved
to Galesburg in 1954 and began his 35 year career at Knox College,
where he was a professor, chairman of the Physics Department,
Registrar, and president of the Knox College Credit Union. He was an
active member of First Presbyterian Church, where he held many
offices including Clerk of the Session.
Wayne was active in the
Galesburg community, serving as a member of and chairman of the board
of trustees for Carl Sandburg College and holding many offices with
the Knox County United Way. He served on the advisory committee for
the State Board of Education in the area of science assessment, was a
member and past president of the Illinois Community College Trustee
Association and the Illinois Science Teachers Association, and was a
member of the Illinois Section of the American Association of Physics
Teachers. Wayne was a recipient of the I.S.A.A.P.T. Distinguished
Service Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Physics Teaching,
the Illinois Science Teachers Association Distinguished Service
Award, and the Illinois Section of the American Association of
Physics Teachers Distinguished Service Award. He was the director of
the Prairieland Credit Union and was an Illinois Credit Union Hall of
Fame inductee. Wayne was instrumental in the Adult Education Reform
Act HB1287 in 1996.
Wayne served in the United
States Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945. He was stationed in the
United States.
Visitation will be 5 to 7
p.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg
Chapel. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation with
private family burial in Hope Cemetery. Memorial service will be 10
a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Shawn Smith will

Robert Eugene Adams, 79, of Galesburg, died at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at home.
Bob was born September 27, 1936 in Cedar Rapids, IA the son of John Raymond and Edna Mae Baker Adams. He was also the step son of David Antel.
Bob married Cheryl Lynn Stinson on June 24, 1978 in Galesburg. They were sealed all time and eternity in the Chicago Temple on December 12, 1986. She survives of Galesburg. He is also survived by two sons, Robert, Jr. and Loren; three daughters, Martha, Edna, and Kay; two step daughters, Carla Dorethy and Cheryl Adams; 22 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bob also leaves behind, his beloved dog, Bandit. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Shipp.
Bob served in the US Army from April 13, 1954 to April 12, 1957. He worked at Kopper’s for 32 years. Bob was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints. In his free time Bob enjoyed fishing, bowling, and watching old time westerns.

She was born Sept. 24, 1911 at home in Bald bluff Township, Henderson County, Il the daughter of John Wesley and Dolly (Miller) Walters. She was raised and educated in Henderson County, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1929 and attended Western Illinois University where she received her Teachers Certificate.
Margaret married Howard Campbell in June 1939 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa and he died in 1972.
Margaret taught for 26 years in country school in the Aledo and Yorkwood School Districts. She also worked for many years on the family farm.
Margaret was an avid Bridge player. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and playing Solitaire of which she has recorded playing over 48,000 games.
She was of Methodist faith and attended the former Belmont Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Virginia Ewing of rural Seaton; 2 granddaughters, Dayle Paulis and Dawn D’rozia; 5 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Stephen M. McKee, 45, of Oquawka, passed away at 8:09 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2015, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport, IA.
He was born on October 19, 1970 in Burlington, IA, the son of Michael Glenn and Marilyn Lee (Rastetter) McKee. Steve was raised and educated in Oquawka, and attended Union High School.
Steve was a mason at Bi-State Masonry in Rock Island, IL for the last two years. He loved the river, the river was his life. Steve enjoyed fishing, boating, and going to tractor shows with his dad. He loved spending time with his family.

Gaylene S. Bartley, age 67 of Knoxville, Illinois died at 5:30 P.M. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at her home.
She was born on March 2, 1948 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Wilson and Rachel Concord Hoots. She graduated from Galesburg High School in the class of 1966. She married Dennis Bartley. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Brandi Cadwell of Arlington Heights, Illinois; one grandson, Lukas Cadwell of Germany; her siblings, Donald (Lisa) Hoots of Houston, Texas and Dixie Morgan of Wataga, Illinois; special friends, Jessie, Marty and Dan; her neighbors, Kathy, Jack and Chloe, Russ, Cheri and Serenity. James H. Harlow, 55, of Monmouth, passed away at 3:33 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2015 at his home.
He was born February 29, 1960 in Monmouth, IL the son of Huston and Dorothy (Carlson) Harlow, Jr. He was raised and educated in Warren County graduating from Warren High School in 1978.
Jim married Ruth Roche at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth on June 10, 1983 and she survives.
Jim was proud to be a 3rd generation farmer on the Harlow Family Farm, just south of Monmouth.
Family was his top priority, he loved being with and around his family. He was a St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings fan. In recent years, he attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Monmouth.

Mary was a 1982 graduate of Union High School in Biggsville. She was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan, and loved country music, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Michael Wallace Wold, 62, of Burlington, Iowa died at 2:00PM Friday, October 23, 2015 at his home.
He was born on November 15, 1952 in Postville, Iowa to Theodore and Helen Ladwit Wold. He was raised by his foster parents, Don and Helen Hurlburt. He married Charles J. Avery on October 4, 2015 in Burlington, Iowa. He survives.

Betty Louise (Reed) Conner, 89, formerly of Prairie City, Illinois, died at 2:45 am Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois.
Betty was born October 13, 1926 in Henderson County, Illinois, the daughter of Harold I. and Edith Campbell Reed. Betty’s mother passed away when she was four years old and was raised by her Uncle and Aunt, Irvin and Mary Estelline (Campbell) Carlson. She married Rolland E. Conner on May 23, 1943 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2011.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Conner of Galva, Illinois, and John (Diane) Conner of Galesburg; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Conner of Cypress, Texas; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Mitchel in 2010 and her sister Shirley Burell.
Betty worked with her husband in their farming enterprises in the Victoria, Galva and Prairie City areas. She was a member of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church and was involved in many of the church activities. She enjoyed traveling with her husband all over the United States and spending several winters in Texas. She also enjoyed spending time playing cards, crocheting, reading, fishing and spending time with family and friends. She was active with the United Methodist Women, the Neighborhood Club, and the Rolling Rivers Camping Club.

Mathilda Jane "Mac" Shimmin
Mathilda Jane "Mac" Shimmin. age 98, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 1:45 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Roseville Nursing and Rehab Center in Roseville. She was born on October 25, 1916 in Henderson County and is the daughter of Carl Oliver and Eliza Jane Bishop Lovdahl. She was raised in rural Henderson County where she attended Hornback rural school and graduated from Monmouth High School in the class of 1935. She was married to Lawrence L. Shimmin on February 14, 1940 in Monmouth, Illinois and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1976. "Mac" was a nanny for four families before she was married, and they was a farmers wife. She then was employed as a cook in the cafeteria at Warren School and later at the Cameron Grade School for the next twenty years. She was a member of the Fairview Center United Methodist Church where she has taught Sunday School, attended her circle, and was a member of the Together Sunday School Class. She also was active in and enjoyed being part of the Square Dancing group locally. She is survived by her daughter, Susie (Jerry) Clark of Keokuk, Iowa; and daughter-in-laws Velda Shimmin of Monmouth and Linda Shimmin of Little York,IL. There are nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-laws Mary Anne Lovdahl of Lynn Center, IL. and Anna Lovdahl of Monmouth, IL. also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, three brothers, and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 10:30 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Mr. Marvin R. Clark, 83, formerly of Galesburg died at 2:30 am, Monday, October 19, 2015 at The Waters of Covington in Covington, Indiana.
He was born August 11, 1932 in Delong, Illinois the son of Fred G. and Martha Crowder Clark.
Marvin is survived by his sister, Anna Brown of Galesburg; nephews, Mike Brown and Marc (Nancy) Brown, Fred R. (Marcia), Roger (Laura) and Bradley Clark; nieces, Kim (Dewey) Brackett, Cindy (Robert) Unthank and Barbara (Ray) McBride; sisters-in-law, Jackie and Janet Clark; many great and great great nieces and nephews and two special friends Shirley Hurt and Robert Brand. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Fred, Edward E., Charles W. and Robert E. Clark, two sisters, Louise and infant, Mildred Clark, brother-in-law, Charles W. Brown and a nephew Samuel Clark.
Marvin served in the US Navy on board the USS Stribling from 1952-1954. He received the National Defense Service Medal.
Marvin as a young man sold radio guides on the main streets of town. He graduated from Galesburg High School. He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Galesburg and later at the St. James United Methodist Church in Danville, Illinois. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW in Danville.

Charles Walter Bush, Sr., 83, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family and in the arms of his loving wife, on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 8:10 a.m.
Chuck was born on October 22, 1931 in Abingdon, Illinois. He is the son of William Joe and Doris Evelyn Meadows Bush. He attended school in a small one room school house in Cherry Grove, outside of Abingdon. Chuck married his wife of 52 years, Linda Ann Nelson on July 14, 1963 at the Central Congregational Church, Galesburg. Chuck is survived by the love of his life, Linda; six sons, Rob (Deana) Bush of Rio, Lee (Tonya) Bush, Chuck (Laurie) Bush, Earl Bush, Mike (Clay) Bush, Travis (Kristy) Bush all of Galesburg; also surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Roger) McCormack of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Roxanne (Tom) Thomas of Kansas; and six sisters, Evelyn (Ervin) Morris and Agnes (Ivan) Roberts both of Knoxville, Dixie Lynch and Wanda McMillan both of Galesburg, Lou Ann (Warren) Matthews of Pocahontas, AR and Carol Holly of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons Ricky Charles Bush, and Charles W. “Bubby” Bush, Jr.; a sister Phyllis Asher, and four brother-in-laws, Edward Asher, Richard Lynch, Jerry Holly, and Max McMillan.
Chuck worked as a finishing wares inspector for Briggs Manufacturing, formerly known as the Abingdon Pottery, for 42 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. Along with riding his Harley, Chuck loved to go bowling, dancing, and roller skating. Aside from the dear love and companionship he had for his dogs, one of his most favorite past times was being able to spend time with his grand children, great-grand children and family. He enjoyed traveling, especially with his family and was able to go to 48 out of the 50 states. Chuck enjoyed life and lived every minute to the fullest with his wife.

Edward Ronald Sprague, 74, of Galesburg, died at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at home.
Ron was born on August 1, 1941 in Springfield, Illinois. He was the son of Edward L. and Mary A. Willett Sprague. He married Rita A. Rapps on April 22, 1961 in Springfield. She was the love of his life for 54 years. Among those surviving are his loving wife, Rita; three children, Mark (Lisa) Sprague of Cypress, TX, Lori (Jeff) Link of Abingdon, Michele Sprague of Galesburg; two sisters, Shirley Knox of Galesburg and Rita Kay Housley of Springfield; four grandchildren, Cassandra (Tyler) Schleich of Monmouth, Cory Link of Abingdon, Taylor Sprague of Houston TX and Davis Sprague of College Station, TX. He was blessed with his first great granddaughter, Scarlett Lynlee Schleich in January of this year.
Ron graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield, Illinois, in 1960. While a student he was a two time All-State Football recipient, on the All City Football team, and went to state in wrestling. After graduating, he received his training and accreditation in Respiratory Therapy at Memorial Hospital, Springfield, Il. He was employed as a Respiratory Therapist at Galesburg Cottage Hospital from 1964 until his retirement in 2003.
He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Elks Lodge.
What Ron enjoyed most in life was his family, followed by an unlimited number of friends he made so easily throughout his life. Many of whom remember him for his love for dancing, any chance he had he would glide across the floor. Despite his retirement years being cut short, he loved golfing and was a regular member on the men’s golf league at Oak run. One of his greatest pleasures was boating with his family and friends. His grandchildren will forever remember him as “Papa Splash.” He enjoyed traveling especially to see his son in Houston! He was the type of person that everyone loved to know as he was caring and loving to all he met.

Glen Wilbur Egli
Glen Wilbur Egli, 85, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 2:16 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois.
Glen was born October 25, 1929 in Lowpoint, Illinois, the son of Reuben A. and Matilda (Eigsti) Egli.
The family moved to Pattensburg, Illinois, where Glen was raised. He graduated from LaRose High School in LaRose, Illinois. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Austria and Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1959.
Glen married Marilyn Griffith Hines in Varna, Illinois on February 27, 1982.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marilyn; a step son, Douglas Hines of Quincy, Illinois; a step daughter, Brenda (and David) Linker of Princeton, Illinois; his twin brother, Ben (and Shirley) Egli of Metamora, Illinois; a sister, Jeannette (and Marvin) Viets of Minonk, Illinois; a brother, John (and Della) Egli of Metamora, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter Egli and Christ Egli; and two sisters, Emma Monk and Mary Bennett.
Glen loved country music. He enjoyed playing his guitar, camping, and traveling. He was a design/draftsman in the mechanical field. His work took him to Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, New Mexico, and Peoria, Illinois.
Glen was a member of First Baptist Church in Galesburg. He had served as a deacon, an usher, and played guitar in the Praise Band. He belonged to the Sunday Morning Men’s Bible Study.
He was a member of Alpha Masonic Lodge #155 in Galesburg and formerly El Bon Shrine. He also belonged to Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 in Galesburg.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2015 at First Baptist Church. Rev. Daniel Siems will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, with military rites by the American Legion Post #285. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or the charity of the donor’s choice. M. Joanne Klossing
M. Joanne Klossing, age 81, of Biggsville, Illinois, passed away at 10:11 pm on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on July 12, 1934 in Oquawka, Illinois, the daughter of Gillette B. and Marjorie M. (Noble) Dixon. Joanne was reared in Oquawka and graduated from G & O High School with the class of 1952. On July 23, 1954, she married E. Dean Klossing in Oquawka, Illinois and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2012. Joanne first started work as a telephone operator in her hometown of Oquawka. She then worked for 28 years as the school secretary for P.H. Miller Elementary School in Plano, Illinois. Joanne enjoyed crafting, decorating, antiquing, and refinishing furniture. In her early years, she enjoyed sewing many of her own clothes and later, designing and sewing quilts. Joanne is survived by one daughter; Lisa (David) Brokaw of Biggsville, IL, two sons; John (Debbie) Klossing of Plano, IL and Mark (Mary) Klossing of Sandwich, IL, two sisters; Colleen Dixon of Dahinda, IL and Joyce Adair of Kirkwood, IL, two brothers; Don (Pat) Dixon of Burlington, IA and Les (Sue) Dixon of Geneva, IL. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean, sisters Elaine Brokaw and Karen S. Dixon.
A funeral service is planned for 11:00 am on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Alice “Jean” Main, 84, of Altona, died at 10:26 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2015, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born October 15, 1931 in Mercer County, the daughter of Frank and Zella Louise (Griffith) Cunningham. She married James Keith Main on February 11, 1951 at First Christian Church in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2008.
She is survived by her children, Stephen Main of Altona, Sharon (and Charlie) Spencer of Winchester, Virginia, Janice (and Dean) Steck of Laurel, Nebraska, Lisa Sopher of Oneida, and Peter (and Christi) Main of Altona; a son-in-law, Mark Larson of Woodhull, 12 grandchildren, Abigail Spencer of Dallas, Texas, Hannah (and Ben) Clark of Nashville, Tennessee, Luke (and Abigail) Spencer of Dallas, Craig (and Stephanie) Steck of Woodstock, Minnesota, Crystal (and Ryan) Dunklau of Wayne, Nebraska, Steven Larson of Altona, David Larson of Woodhull, Zachary (and Megan) Sopher of Lynn Center, Dana Sopher of Mahomet, and Tyler, Bethany, and Madelyn Main, all of Altona; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Dennis of Oneida. In addition to helping her husband on the farm and raising and caring for her family, Jean worked for 12 years as a multi-township assessor and was a cook for 11 years at the Red Oak in Bishop Hill.
Jean was a member of the United Church of Altona, where she was active in the Women’s Group. She was also active and past president of the Illinois Beef Auxiliary and served on the Illinois Beef Board in the 1990’s. Jean enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the United Church of Altona. Private family burial will be in Oneida Cemetery on Friday followed by a memorial service at the United Church of Altona at 11 a.m. Pastor David Pyell will officiate. Peg was born October 15, 1919 in Fulton , Illinois , the daughter of Robert E. and Tracy K. Tracy. Peg married the love of her life, Howard W. Risen on October 15, 1953 . He preceded her in death on May 10, 1998 . Peg is survived by her dear friends James “Dave” (Bev) Powell of Galesburg, and her many friends, nieces and nephews. A. Isabelle Wenzel, 91, of Galesburg, died at 7:18 a.m. Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the home of her daughter.
She was born February 7, 1924 in Ontario, Illinois, the daughter of Glenn Amos and Retah M. (Voorhees) Wilmot. She married Willard L. Wenzel on April 11, 1942 in Crown Point, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1995.
She is survived by a son, Willard Dale (and Betty) Wenzel of Peoria; three daughters, Kathaleen (and Stanley) Hillier, Karen M. (and Rick Lawsha) Peters, and Donna K. Palmer, all of Galesburg; two step daughters, Patricia Jo Carr and Sharon Lee Erwin; a son-in-law, Dan Peters of Galesburg; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Yeast of Galesburg and Edith Sells of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and six sisters.
Isabelle attended Galesburg High School. She was co-owner and operator of A and B Body Shop along with her husband. Isabelle was baptized into the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking for her family.

Carroll M. Watts
Mr. Carroll M. Watts, 95, of Galesburg, Ill. died 5:55 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
Carroll Watts was born December 2, 1919 in McDonough County, Ill, the second child born to Rella Claude Watts and Lera Jeanette Watts. Jeanette never went by Lera, always using the name Jeanette. Carroll was born on a farm a short distance from Colchester, Ill. He had one older sister Nita Marie Watts. The Watts family moved to Colchester during the winter when Carroll was five years old.
He attended the Colchester grade and high school, graduating in 1937. During his growing up years he delivered the Peoria Journal Star and evening paper, and also the Chicago Tribune which came into town on the 5:20 a.m. train. He also had summer jobs with the local drug store, a cream and egg buying station, and Maid Rite Sandwich Shop.
In 1938 he went to work for Mr. Anders Anderson who was starting an auto parts business. Carroll married Doris Grace Vogler February 15, 1941. They lived in Colchester and he continued working for Mr. Anderson until called into the Military Services in June 1942. He served in the 9th Air Force, 461st Squadron, and spent two years overseas in England, France, and Germany. During this time he was a maintenance person in the electrical shop servicing the P51 combat fighter planes. Carroll was discharged from the Army on December 2, 1945, his birthday. He returned to Colchester.
On March 1, 1946 he and Doris along with a partner opened an auto parts store in Abingdon, Ill. The business was moved to Galesburg on January 1, 1950 and was located at Henderson and Fremont Street. Doris and he purchased the partner’s interest on January 1, 1952 and renamed the business Galesburg Auto Supply. In 1957 they reopened a store in Abingdon, naming it the Abingdon Motor Parts Inc.
In fall of 1967, Carroll and Doris purchased land and built a new building at 883 W. Dayton St. and relocated there. They continued in the business in that location until February 1, 1988 when they sold the business and retired. The Abingdon store was sold to long time employees at the Galesburg store and renamed NAPA Motor Parts.
Surviving is his son, Steven (and Yan) Watts of Galesburg and his daughter Christine Watts of Galesburg. He is preceded in death by his wife Doris on February 4, 1997, his parents and a sister Nita Bloomfield.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Galesburg.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Mary Runge will officiate. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.at the chapel. Marjorie A. Bell
Mrs. Marjorie A. Bell, 84, of Galesburg died at 1:48 am Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Heartland Health Care Center.
She was born February 14, 1931 in Galesburg, the daughter of Elmer and Lysle Salisbury Kann. She married Jimmie B. Bell on May 25, 1957 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2014.
Among those surviving are four of her children, Lisa (Curt) Anderson of Dahinda, Kurt (Kristi) Bell of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Connie Rainey of Ankeny, Iowa and Cathy (Jeff) Markley of Galesburg; nine grandchildren, Jessie, Jennie, Carissa, Karson, Klayton, Kameron, Kasey, Conner and Karter; and her sister, Jean Kann Huevelman. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her oldest daughter, Stacey and both of her brothers, Dick and Bill Kann.
Marjorie graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1948 and attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa. She retired in 1990 from District 205 where she worked as a Special Education attendant for many years. She was a devoted Catholic and an active member of Corpus Christi Church and the Altar & Rosary Society.
As a young child, “Marj”, had a passion for reading that continued into her adult years. She was always looking for her next good book to read. She also loved crossword puzzles and football, but her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family. She took pride in all of her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments.
Graveside services are scheduled for 12:30 pm, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at St. Joseph Cemetery. Cremation will be accorded. Rev. William Miller will officiate. Mrs. Laura M. Price, 94, of Galesburg passed away at 11:15 pm Thursday, October 15, 2015 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
She was born March 4, 1921 in Maquon, Illinois the daughter of Harry and Gladys McWilliams Haynes. She married Wendell E. Price on May17, 1942 in Maquon. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2002.
Laura is survived by her three daughters, Sharon A. Hambsch and Judy M. both of Galesburg and Wendy C. Wilson of South Elgin, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Timothy (Sheila) Hambsch of Chandler, Arizona, Staci Lovell of Oneida, Illinois, Melinda Labossiere of Ledyard, Connecticut, Shawna (James) Bryson of Machesney Park, Illinois, Tiffiny (Donnie) Pool of Blandinsville, Illinois, Bradley Hambsch and Gregory Imes both of Galesburg, Bryant (Corey) Wilson of Burlington, Iowa and Shawn Wilson of South Elgin; 20 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; two sisters, Alice (Leon) Uhlmann of Galesburg and Mary (Don) Pont of Utah; two brothers, Paul and Jim Haynes both of Oneida. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Richard Price May 23, 2005, one brother, Eugene, one sister, Helen Mae and two sons-in-laws, George Wilson and Phil Hambsch.
Laura received her Master’s Degree from Western Illinois University. She taught school in Maquon, Knoxville and Elburn, Illinois for 28 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and devoted many hours of service whenever she was needed. Laura enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidering and quilting. Her passion was writing. She journaled almost every day of her life for the last 50 years. She loved sending cards and letters to everyone she cared about. Laura and her husband, Wendell, enjoyed traveling and were able to travel the world. Laura was an avid Cub Fan.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, October 19, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Mary Runge will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm at the chapel. Margaret R. Ray, 89 of Monmouth, IL passed away Thursday October 15, 2015, 9:20 am at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL. She was born Thursday November 19, 1925 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Roy and Rose (Gavin) Thompson. She married Earl Ray he preceded her.
She is survived by three daughters Sharon (John) Way of Newman, IL, Barb (Ron) Byers of Berwick, IL and Carol (Corky) Shaw of Roseville, IL; grandchildren Brenda (Kurt) Logan, Nicole (Dwayne) Allgood, Victoria Way, Dan (Melissa) Byers, Amanda (Joel) Newman, Jen (Jeff) Podhajsky, Chrissy (Jeremy) Russell, Tanya (Jason) Blakeman, Jessica Shaw, Joshua (Jen) Shaw and Jillian (Cedric) Smith; 29 great grandchildren; three sisters Martha Driscoll of Monmouth, IL, Florence (Francis) Kane of Roseville, IL and Grace Dollinger of Metamora, IL. Nancy Lee Cree
Nancy Lee Cree, 78, of Galesburg, died at 7:34 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at home.
She was born November 17, 1936 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galesburg, the daughter of Kendall and Minnie (Grafland) Toureene. She married Glen H. Cree on July 13, 1954 in Galesburg.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Glen; two sons, Paul (and Vergene) Cree of Knoxville and Michael (and Laura) Cree of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Debra (and Bill) Holcomb of Galesburg and Diane (and Ed) Mower of Lake Bracken, Galesburg; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kendall William Toureene.
Nancy worked in the election office for the City of Galesburg for 20 years, retiring January 1, 1999. She graduated from ROVA High School in 1954. She was a member of Rio Presbyterian Church. Nancy loved her family, crafting, and holidays, especially Christmas. Glen and Nancy enjoyed traveling.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jim Ecklund officiating. James E. Stotler
James E. Stotler, age 74, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at Marigold Rehab & Health Care Center of Galesburg, Illinois on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 1:15 am. Jim was born on October 2, 1941 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Charles and Carrie (Cookson) Stotler. James was educated in the Quincy and at the age of 18, moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. Jim returned to the Kirkwood area of Illinois when he was 21. He proudly served his Country in peacetime with the U.S. Army. On February 23, 1985, James married Clara Abbott in Monmouth, Illinois and she is surviving. James was employed as an over the road driver for Munson Transportation in Monmouth for a few years. He was then employed for many years as a carpet layer at Rheinschmidt's Carpets in Galesburg. He will be remembered as a true craftsman who loved his work. He was a former member of the Monmouth Eagles Aerie. James loved music, reading, dancing, and fishing. James is survived by his wife Clara Abbott of Monmouth, IL, one daughter, Cindy of Little Rock, AK, one son, Tony of Peoria, IL, and one step-son, Howard Stokes of Burlington, IA. He is also survived by several grandchildren. James is preceded in death by his parents, one son, and one brother.

Ronald L. Hogan
Ronald L. Hogan, age 78, of Avon, Illinois died at 8:35 A.M. on Monday, October 12, 2015 at his home.
He
was born on September 27, 1937 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Lloyd
and Louise Williamson Hogan. He married Laurel Sorenson in 1957, who
preceded him in death in August, 1978. He later married Marsha Melton
Colwell in November, 1992.
Surviving
are his wife Marsha of Avon, Illinois; two children: Richard Lee (Judy)
Hogan of Galesburg, Illinois and Joy Leigh (Mark) Tully of Galesburg,
Illinois; step children: Tracy Colwell of Moline, Illinois; Terry
(Rachel) Colwell of Abingdon, Illinois; Tina Lovitt of Monmouth,
Illinois; and Tom (Lori) Colwell of Avon, Illinois; thirteen
grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; also two brothers, Roger
(Elaine) Hogan of Meredith, New Hampshire and Terry (Louise) Hogan of
Hudsonville, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his
wife, Laurel.
In
his earlier years, Ron worked as a delivery person for the former Lucky
Boy Bread in Galesburg, and also as a conductor for the former CB &
Q Railroad. He retired in 2004 from Koppers in Galesburg after 35 years
as a prentice operator.
Ron
never knew a stranger and was always joking. He was an avid reader and
loved to work in his yard. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking
and playing golf. He also liked to go camping and fishing, and was a
member of the NRA.
Visitation
will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, October 16, 2015
and funeral services at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the
Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home & Crematory, Knoxville, Illinois. Rev.
