Olive LaDoris Woods, 97 of Abingdon, passed away at 8:11 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 at her home.
She was born September 15, 1918 in Wrights, Illinois, the daughter of Andrew J. and Marie Baldes Wright. She married Leonard Newman Woods on June 21, 1941 in Bowling Green, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Richard Wright and one sister, Corinne Frech.
LaDoris is survived by her children, Linda (James) Gilfillan of Greenbush and Doug Woods of Greenbush; 5 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She graduated from Carrolton High School. She was a homemaker and had lived in Abingdon since 1952. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a volunteer for many years at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Burial will be in the Greenbush Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel.
