Sally
Ruth Lozier, 74, of East Galesburg, died at 8:28 p.m. Monday, January
16, 2017 at Richard Owens Hospice House, Peoria.
Sally
was born July 12, 1942 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Eugene R.
“Jack” and Ruth Monks Connor. She graduated from Corpus Christi
High School. Sally married Howard D. Lozier on October 27, 1962 at
Corpus Christi Church in Galesburg. Sally is survived by her
husband, Howard of East Galesburg; two sons, Bill (Renee) Lozier of
East Galesburg and Brian (Tricia) Lozier of Dyersberg, TN; one
daughter, Colleen (Roger) Davis of Annawan; and two sisters, Donna
(Jerry) Scott of East Galesburg and Jene Hinton of Denver, CO. She
is also survived by her grandchildren, Keith and Kyle Davis, Connor
and Garrett Lozier, Gracie, Grayson, and Quinn Lozier. Sally was
preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and David
Connor; and one sister, Mary Sandage.
Sally
had a strong faith in God and was a dedicated member of Corpus
Christi Catholic Church. In her younger years, Sally worked at W.A.
Jordan and enjoyed selling Avon. She also enjoyed making and selling
Barbie doll clothing, tending to her garden and large strawberry
patch. Sally also loved to cook and bake her famous cookies. She
also enjoyed catering as well as her doll collection. Most of all,
Sally loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending as much time
with them as possible.
The
rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 at
Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg with visitation
following from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday,
January 24, 2017 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rev. William T.
Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
