Jack W. Quinn, 75
of Abingdon, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at his apartment
at the Bluebell Tower.
He was born
November 12, 1941 in Abingdon, the son of Jesse and Elsie Burns
Quinn. He married Waneta Kay Simpson on October 24, 1964 in
Abingdon. She preceded him in death on August 20, 2002. He was also
preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Stella Louise Quinn and
three brothers, Jake Quinn, Ronald “Fish” Quinn and Rodger Quinn.
Jack is survived
by two daughters, Shelly (David) Tinkham of Abingdon and Kim Godsil
of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Josh, Justin, Alaina and Andrea;
seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Quinn of Abingdon; and
several nieces and nephews and their families.
He had lived in
Abingdon most of his life. He began working at Admiral/Maytag in
August of 1967 and retired in October of 1997. He was an avid St.
Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed watching them play. He also enjoyed
playing cards, listening to his Elvis cd’s, and spending time with
his family.
Cremation will
be accorded. Private family service will be held at the Abingdon
Cemetery. A time for family and friends to celebrate his life will
be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the
Bluebell Tower community room, 300 N. Jefferson St. in Abingdon.
Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with
arrangements.
