Terry L. Jacobs, 75, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 4:02 A.M. on Sunday, February 05, 2017 at his home.
Terry
was born on July 31, 1941 in Abingdon, Illinois, the son of William L.
and Velma Derry Jacobs. He was raised and educated in Galesburg and
graduated from Galesburg High School in 1959. Terry enlisted in the
Army Reserves in 1961 and was discharged in 1966. Terry married Crystal
B. Carson on May 10, 1989 in Jefferson, Wisconsin and she survives.
Terry was employed at Maytag for 30 years retiring in 1992.
Terry
loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He always
made time for a good auction or yard sale and he enjoyed going out to
eat. You never saw Terry without his little dog Camo who he loved
taking for car rides.
Terry greatest joy was the time he spent with his family; traveling, hunting, or taking the grandkids fishing.
Terry
is survived by his wife, Crystal of Knoxville, Illinois; one son, Gary
Dean (Susan) Jacobs of Knoxville, Illinois; one daughter, Nancy Sue
(Bill) Kelso of Knoxville, Illinois; one step-son Willy Bowman of
Galesburg, Illinois. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan
(Stephanie) Gibbs, Nate (Dakota Teel) Gibbs, Andrea Jacobs, Logan
Jacobs; step-grandchildren, Dane (Hannah) Young, Milan Young, and Kenin
Donaldson, Shawn Bowman, Katrina Bowman, and Katie Bowman; seven great
grandchildren, Gabriel, Payton, Brayden, Chance, Wyatt, Richie, and
Nate; two sisters, Connie (Allen) Kreiger of New Salem, Iowa and
Beverly (Russ) Kemp of Knoxville, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one nephew, Max Rylander.
Funeral
service will be held at 2:00P.M. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at
Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, Illinois. Visitation will be
one hour prior from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial
will be in Knoxville Cemetery. Following the burial a Celebration of
Life will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Knoxville American
Legion, Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the American
Diabetes Association. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory are in
