Loren W. Conard, 81, of Monmouth, died
1:11 A.M. Monday, November 24, 2014 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center,
Galesburg.
He was born March 2, 1933 in rural
Monmouth, the son of Buford and Mildred (Griffee) Conard. He was
raised and educated in the Monmouth area and graduated from Monmouth
High School.
Loren served in the U.S. Army during
the Korean War.
He farmed all of life in Warren County.
He loved collecting John Deere and train items. When his children
were young, he enjoyed helping them show cattle at the Warren County
Prime Beef Festival. He also enjoyed watching his children play
sports.
He was a member of the Fairview United
Methodist Church, and had served on the Lenox Township Board and on
the Warren County Prime Beef Committee, serving as President in 1980.
Those left to cherish his memory are
his children, Tamara (Todd) Patterson of Rockford, IL, Torrey (Pat)
Conard of West Chicago, IL, Tab (Candy) Conard of Monmouth,
grandchildren Bob (Tara) Conard, Laura Conard, Julia Conard, Brittany
Conard, Cecily Conard and Landon Conard and one great grandson,
Cassiday Sprague, along with his companion Jodi Anderson of
Galesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and son, Ty Conard.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M.
Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Fairview United Methodist Church with
Rev. Gabriel Wanch. Burial with military honors will be in Warren
County Memorial Park.
Visitation with his family will be on
Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until time of services at the church.
