Virginia Ruth "Ginger" (Harding) Winters, 93, of Roseville, IL passed away at 11:20 PM November 26, 2014 at the Roseville Rehabilitation Center after suffering a stroke.
Born January 4, 1921 in Prairie City, IL to Lawrence C. and Harriet M. "Hattie" (Hughbanks) Harding. She married Harold R Winters on Nov 9, 1938 in Shelby County, MO. He preceded her in death in August of 2004.
She was also preceded her in death by 2 brothers, Joseph & Samuel Harding, and 3 sisters; Mabryn Varner, Helen Taylor, and Ruth Swanson.
Surviving is a daughter, Sarah Beth (Winters) May of Chicago and a brother, Daniel Harding of Fort Meyers, 15 nieces and nephews & extended family.
Harold and Ginger met through their love of dancing and continued to dance through their 65 year marriage. Residing over 55 years in Roseville, they retired to Zephyrhills, FL, keeping in touch with friends when returning to Roseville.
She was a member of the Roseville Methodist Church, National TTT Society, the Legion Auxiliary, MMO, and Coffee Club. Ginger was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking (sharing Fudge, Cookies, Muffins and Pie), family gatherings, and playing bridge with the "girls".
In her evening prayers, she always asked for the safe return of our military personnel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Legion Auxiliary, Roseville Chapter or the Illinois Veterans Home at Quincy.
