Dolores
A. (Dee) Austin, age 67, of Maquon, Illinois died at 7:42 P.M. on
Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg,
Illinois after a courageous battle with cancer.

After
marrying she made her home in Maquon, Illinois, where she and her
husband owned and operated Alan Austin Trucking in Maquon, Illinois. She
was also an EMT in Maquon, Illinois for several years and a member of
the Board for Friends of Knox County.
Dolores
did not have children but asked God what her purpose was if she could
not be a mother and the next day she found a mother cat with babies
under her porch, so from then on she took in many stray cats in Maquon
and gave them a good home.
Dolores
is survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John (Debbie)
Austin of Morton, Illinois; one nephew, Nick Austin of Morton, Illinois,
and longtime neighbors and their family Delbert (Beth) Wells of Maquon,
Illinois. Also surviving is a special cousin, Patricia (Dale) Smith of
Galesburg, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband and
parents.
Funeral
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at the
Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 21,
2014 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville,
Illinois. Interment will be in the Maquon Cemetery, Maquon, Illinois.
Fellowship will follow the graveside services at the Hurd-Hendricks
Fellowship Center in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the
Guardian Angels or the Friends of Knox County. Online condolences and
