Miguel A. Gonzalez

Miguel A. Gonzalez, age 57, of Biggsville, Illinois passed away at 11:55 pm on January 2, 2015 surrounded by his family. 

Miguel was born on April 14, 1957 in Utuado, Puerto Rico and is the son of Arsenio and Juana B. Cruz Gonzalez. Miguel was raised in New York City where he attended local schools, St. Columbus Elementary and graduated from I.S.70 High School in 1975. He married Diane M. Weinreich on January 23, 1993 in Reno, Nevada.and she is surviving. He and Diane resided in Sacramento, California for several years where he worked for B. Davis Construction Company for seven years. They came to Biggsville in 2010 and Miguel began work at Federal Mogul in Burlington, Iowa where he was a supervisor. He is a member of the Biggsville Volunteer Fire Department and is a zoning officer on the Biggsville Village board. Miguel loves to play golf and ride motorcycles. He loves all sports and betting on the horses. Miguel is an avid fan of New York Mets Baseball and the New Giants Football team.

He is survived by his wife, Diane of Biggsville, Illinois and one son Miguel Jason Gonzalez also of Biggsville, Illinois. His mother, Juana Cruz of Manhattan, New York is surviving and his sisters, Lilly Gonzalez in Puerto Rico and Edilma Chan in New City. One brother Raymond Cruz survives in Daytona Beach, Florida. Miguel is preceded in his death by his father, Arsenio. A funeral service for Miguel is planned on Thursday January 8, 2015 at 4:00 pm at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Biggsville, Illinois. His family plans visitation and will receive their friends at the funeral from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm prior to the funeral on Thursday.
