Kenneth F. Wenstrom, 96, of
Galesburg, died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 in Marigold Health Care
Center.
He was born April 10, 1918 in
Rio, Illinois the son of Fredrick A. and Hilda (Peterson) Wenstrom. He married Lois J. Cohenour in 1938 in Davenport,
Iowa. He later married Ailene A.
Greenman on September 11, 1967 in Montello, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death October 27, 2006.
He is survived by a son,
Larry (and Sandie) Wenstrom of Galesburg; a daughter, Sandra K. Heck of
Galesburg; a stepson, Mike (and Marcie) Greenman of Rio; a stepdaughter, Hazel
Perdue of Virginia Beach, Virginia; eight grandchildren; seven great
grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven
step-great grandchildren; a brother, Nevin A. Wenstrom of Venice, Florida; and
three sisters, Irene Clayton of Princeton, Illinois and Ruth Rouland and
Dorothy Jean (and Bill) Brinton, both of Galesburg. Preceding in death are his
parents and three brothers
Kenneth was a farmer for many
years. He also worked at Admiral
Corporation, was a cement finisher, and retired in 1985 as a carpenter for the
State of Illinois.
He was a member of Trinity
Lutheran Church. Kenneth loved to fish
and was a member of the Bass Fishing Club.
He was also a member of the Moose Lodge.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Rick Shriber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the
service at the chapel. Entombment will
be in the mausoleum at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice
Compassus or a charity of the donor’s choice.
