Bernard G. “Butch” Crowley

Bernard G. “Butch” Crowley, Jr., 53, of Galesburg, died at 4:56 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Butch was born July 9, 1961 in Peoria, the son of Bernard G. and Kathleen Marnich Crowley, Sr.  He married Judith Ann Pawelczak on September 6, 1991 in Peoria.  Butch is survived by his wife, Judy of Galesburg; his step mother, Lois Crowley of Peoria; two sons, Bernard G. (Maisie) Crowley, III and Joseph Crowley both of Galesburg; and two sisters, Kim Crowley and Sherry Crowley.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Butch had been working for over 25 years as a vending manager for the visually impaired.  He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Father J.O. Hunt Knights of Columbus Council 556.  Butch enjoyed listening to old time radio and all music, especially Irish.  He also enjoyed drawing, cooking, and watching westerns, and greatly admired John Wayne.  He loved to spend time with his family.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and will be remembered as a loving husband and father.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.   A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Rev. Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio will officiate.  Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the Business Enterprise Program for the Blind.  Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
