Betty M. Barbero

Betty M. Barbero, 63, of Galesburg, died at 1:35 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 in Seminary Manor.

She was born December 25, 1951 in Joy, Illinois the daughter of Theodore and Theresa (Wilson) Selser Sr.  She married John Cooper.  She later married David R. Barbero on June 28, 1980 in Galesburg.

She is survived by her husband, David; three daughters, Becky Cooper and Samantha (and Robert) Estrada, both of Galesburg and Tabitha (and Thomas) Carder of Altona, Illinois; a step son, Mike (and Carrie) Cooper of Galesburg; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, George Selser and Carl Selser, both of Galesburg; and a sister, Evelyn Bridger of Galesburg.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Christopher Cooper on August 12, 2011, and six brothers and sisters.

Betty was an inventory auditor at RGIS for seven years.  She attended Galesburg High School and earned her G.E.D.  She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and taught Sunday school there.  She enjoyed crafts and rubber stamping, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Cremation will be accorded.  Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church.  Rev. Kirk Kendall will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is handling arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
