Delores V. Hunt

Delores V. Hunt, 80, of Rio, Illinois passed away April 12, 2015 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois surrounded by her family. 

 

She was born September 8, 1934 in Washington, Iowa to Samuel and Crystal Johnson Arnold.  She married Orville E. Hunt July 3, 1955 in Burlington, Iowa.  He preceded her in death in 1982.  She worked for Howard Johnson’s in Moline, Illinois starting in 1968 and transferred to Howard Johnson’s in Galesburg in 1982.  She worked for Jacks in 1985 until she retired in 1992. 

 

Delores is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Randy) Downard of Rio, Illinois; two sons, Stanley (Diane) Hunt of Aledo, Illinois, Daniel (Angie) Hunt of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Ryan (Sam Carrillo) Downard of Rio, Brittany (Gregory Miller II) Downard of Galesburg, Ashley (Chad) Clark of Abingdon, Illinois; five step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Simmons of Ely, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceeded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers.

 

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory in Galesburg.  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Rev. Dwight Johnson and Rev. Bert Johnson officiating.  Burial will be at the Taylor Cemetery in Appanoose County, Iowa.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be directed towww.watsonthomas.com or www.waglerfuneralhome.com.
