
Surviving is her husband of Knoxville, Illinois; children, Tina Day of Normal, Illinois, John (Laura) Hughs of Normal, Illinois, Erik Hughs of Knoxville, Illinois and Megan (Edward) Collins of Riverdale, Iowa. Six grandchildren; Ellen and Emery Day, Pryor Hughs, Luke, Brynn and Anne Collins. Siblings; Floyd (Carol) Lamberson III of Silver Lake, Wisconsin, Jerri Turner of Knoxville, Illinois and Terry Lamberson of Knoxville, Illinois. Also surviving is her aunt, Connie (Paul) Washabaugh of Crystal Lake, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jo Kay worked as a cook at Mable Woolsey Elementary School in Knoxville, Illinois. She worked with the Knoxville Booster Club, and also coached girls softball. Jo Kay loved to help others. She loved her family especially her grand-children who meant the world to her.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. John A. Sibley, Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. A luncheon will be held after the funeral service at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center. Interment will be at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Rescue Mission in Galesburg, Illinois.
