John J. Hoskins, age 56 of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 5:30 pm on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his residence in Monmouth. He was born on August 17, 1958 in Monmouth, the son of John and Eva Marie (Hathaway) Hoskins. He was reared and educated in the area and attended Union High School. John very much enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by three sisters: Carol Nelson of Ottawa, KS, Judy Myers of Salem, IA, and Eva Joan (Greg) Scanlan of Keokuk, IA. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews, cousins, and four Aunts. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva Marie Hoskins, two brothers: Donald F. Hathaway and Randy Joe Hoskins, and one sister, Tina Jean Hoskins.
Cremation is being accorded. A gathering of John's family will be from 11:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Biggsville Community Center. Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of arrangements. To leave John's family a condolence, please visit www.turnbullfuneralhomes.com
