Herbert D. Naslund

Herbert D. Naslund died July 4, 2015 at the age of 89.  He held hands with and is survived by his wife Maxine after 67 years of marriage. He was the son of Herman and Helen Holmes Naslund. The older brother to four sisters, Betty (Gene) Bird, who preceded him in death, Ruth (Gerald) Egnew, Beverly (Sandy) Sornberger and Joyce (Dick) Doubet. He was blessed with five children Peggy (Mike) Nelson, Chuck (Jean) Naslund, Richard (Susan) Naslund, Brian (Gloria) Naslund, and Sarah (Mark) Armstrong, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a wonderful extended family.

Herbert was a Christian, a proud veteran, legionnaire, fisherman, gardener, walker, dancer, a Victoria community volunteer and a founding member of Little John Conservation Club.  But most of all, he was an honest, hard-working family man. He worked for the United Mine Workers in Victoria, Illinois.

Visitation will be held at the Victoria United Methodist Church, Saturday July 11, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. with the funeral to follow. Rev. Russ Theobald will officiate. Interment will be in the Victoria Cemetery, Victoria, Illinois with military rites conducted by the Charles A. Warrensford American Legion Post #726.  Donations may be made to the Victoria Memorial Library or to the Victoria United Methodist Church in Victoria, Illinois.
