Mary L. Johnson

Mrs. Mary L. Johnson age 94 of Galesburg, Ill. died Saturday August 22, 2015 at 4:50 am at Rosewood Care Center.

She was born April 16, 1921 in Galesburg, Ill. the daughter of Raymond L. and Mary J. Swann Boyd, Sr.. She married Roy D. Johnson, Sr. August of 1946 in Rock Island, Ill. he preceded her in death December 9, 2001.

Mary is survived by one son Roy D. and Susan Johnson of Houston , Tx., two son’s Ray Lott and Steven Lott., one daughter Christine A. Hansen, of Lynchburg, Va., one brother Joseph E. and Loretta Boyd of Galesburg, Ill., one sister Marion Garside of Florida, two grandson’s Joe and Steven Hansen, three great grandchildren, and a special devoted friend Albert Townsley of Galesburg, Ill..

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Raymond L. Boyd, Jr., niece Sharon Lyon, son in law Dale Hansen, and brother in law Robert Garside.

She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1939, then worked for Maytag Corporation for 23 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and traveling to her children’s residences.

Graveside services will be 10 am Wednesday August 26, 2015 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.
