William M. "Billy" Smallwood

William M. "Billy" Smallwood, age 65, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at OSF St.Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL on August 15, 2015 at 6:35 pm.

Billy was born on July 10, 1950 and is the son of William Henry and Maxine Louise Shoots Smallwood Webb. He was raised in Monmouth, IL where he attended Harding School and graduated from Monmouth High School with the class of 1968. Billy was married to Maria R. Facundo on July 18, 1992 in Monmouth and she is surviving. Billy began work as a bus driver at Cavanuagh Bus Service for a number of years. He then drove a cab and was a driver for Bailey Cab Company here in Monmouth, IL. Lastly he was a custodian at Harding School for a number of years until his retirement. Bill was a member and a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Monmouth, IL all his life. He also assisted and often drove at Turnbull Funeral Home for many funeral services. Billy was active and assisted at Strom Center in many ways in his later years. Bill was known to help many people locally and often was known to sell tickets to many varied events locally. He is survived by his wife, Maria of Monmouth, Illinois and his daughter, Tiffini Smallwood of Peoria, two sons: Sterling (Danielle Lee) Smallwood, of Peoria, and Townsley ( Kim ) Smallwood of Tampa, Florida. There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild surviving. A number of cousins and other relatives are also surviving. Bill is preceded in his death by his parents, Step Father, one granddaughter, two sisters, and one brother.

A funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday,August 22, 2015 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. His family plans a visitation and to receive their friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 am to 10:30 am prior to the service Saturday. Cremation will then be accorded.
