Caroline W. Gipson
Caroline W. Gipson, age 100, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Davenport. Caroline was born on November 27, 1914 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Charles F. and Nellie T. (Fetterly) Raymond. In 1946, Caroline married Owen Gipson in Monmouth, Illinois and he preceded her in death in July, 1961. Caroline was a homemaker. She most enjoyed oil painting, embroidery, crocheting, painting ceramics, and reading. She was blessed with a large family and loved spending time with them. Her "100th" birthday party was a day of great joy for Caroline and her family. Caroline is survived by one daughter; Donna J. Driscoll of Davenport, IA, two grandsons and four granddaughters; Stephen (Zobeyda) Driscoll of Broken Arrow, OK, Christine (Jan) Pokorny of Omaha, NE, Carol (Steve) Sears of Clinton, IA, Cheryl (Jay) Wagner of Davenport, IA, Marcy (Chris) Mai of Davenport, IA, and Doug (Laurel) Driscoll of Ft. Collins, CO, She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and niece, Debbie Underwood. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Owen, sister, Ada Lusk, and two brothers, Ned Raymond and Floyd Raymond.
