Charles Leonard Pulliam

Abingdon – Charles Leonard Pulliam, 72 of Abingdon, died at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in the emergency room at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
  He was born September 19, 1943 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, the son of Leonard Lee Pulliam and Naomi Elizabeth Gray Pulliam.  He married Linda Lou Burton on October 1, 1963 in Abingdon.  She preceded him in death on June 30, 2004.  He was also preceded in death by his parents.
  Charlie is survived by his fiancée, Carol Sargeant of Avon; his children, Tina M. (Steve) Jockisch of St. Augustine, Jeffrey (Kimmie) Pulliam of McHenry and Tom (Jamie) Pulliam of Monmouth; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one on the way; two sisters, Emma Jean (Victor, Sr.) Randle of Abingdon and Ava Cecil of Galesburg.
  He lived most of his life in the Abingdon area.  He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1961.  He was a car salesman for 20 years for the former Dean & Bob’s Chevrolet, which later became Shottenkirk Chevrolet in Abingdon.  He later worked at Webber Grill, was a farmhand for Bliss Farms and Quick Farms and last worked as a bartender at the Town Tavern in Avon.  He was a past member of the Abingdon Jaycees and was a member of the Sons of American Legion.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and Green Bay Packer football fan.
  Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Abingdon Cemetery.  Rev. Victor Randle, Jr. and Rev. Russ Witkowski will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
