She was born May 8, 1958 in Macomb, Illinois the daughter of Ronald L. and Carole L. Lawson Foster. She first married Tab Hillier December 1974. She then married Tim McEllen on February 10, 1996 in Galesburg.
She is survived by her mother, Carole Herrmann of East Peoria; four daughters, Tabitha (and Eric) Sundberg, Tara (and Drew Rogers) Hillier, Trisha Hillier and Torrie Hillier all of Galesburg; two step sons, Kris and Mike Hillier both of Galesburg; her sister Rhonda Sturgeon of Galesburg; and her partner, Mike Hanna of Galesburg and ten grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father.
Crystal loved nursing and worked as a registered nurse from 1986-2003. She first worked at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria from 1986-1988, then OSF St. Mary Medical Center from 1988-1997 and Soderstrom Dermatology from 1997-2003. She was a member of Galesburg High School Class of 1976 and graduated Carl Sandburg College in 1986. Crystal volunteered for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, boating and swimming. She was a great cook and was a part of Three Wives Catering. Crystal was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was always there for her family wanting to help in any way she could.
Memorial Service is scheduled for Noon, Monday, December 28, 2015 at First Lutheran Church. Rev. Vince Marolla will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00-Noon Monday at the church. Cremation will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or Beacon of Hope Hospice. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
