Evelyn A. (Whitmore) Siens

Evelyn A. (Whitmore) Siens, age 83, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 5:30 pm on Friday, December 25, 2015 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on March 6, 1932 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur E. and Dorothy A. (Judd) Bauer. Evelyn attended school in the Yarmouth, Iowa school system. On June 8, 1950, Evelyn married Richard Whitmore in Burlington, IA and he preceded her in death on September 4, 1981. On July 3, 1982, she married Roger Siens in Oquawka, IL and he preceded her on April 12, 2012. Evelyn began work at Sylvania in Burlington, IA. She then work at various locations as a bartender, and lastly worked at Lamont Limited in

Burlington, IA from which she retired. Evelyn loved to do puzzles, play cards, read books, and listen to country music. Evelyn is survived by two sons; Gerald (Gayle) Whitmore of Galesburg, IL and Michael (Kayla) Whitmore of Burlington, IA, three daughters; Patricia (Gary) Andrews of Atkinson, IL, Connie (John) Spiker of Oquawka, IL, and Brenda Whitmore of Monmouth, IL, eight grandchildren; Tracy (Don) Wade, Cory (Katy) Whitmore, Jeannie (Christian) Salcedo, Alex Spiker, Ashley Whitmore, Michelle Whitmore, Jessica (Donavan) Vanskike, and Richard Spiker, eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and one sister; Joyce Gilleard. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers; Gene Bauer and Ralph Calhoon, and two sisters; Linda Allen and Lois Mohnike.
