Mr. Marvin C. “Pete” Coziahr,
age 88, of Knoxville, Illinois, formerly of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 7:11
p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville.
He was born October 6, 1927,
in Appleton, Illinois, the son of Arthur and Mildred Murray Coziahr. He married Marjorie J. Starr in Galesburg on
November 22, 1947.
He is survived by his wife of
68 years, Marjorie; one son, Timothy (Debra) Coziahr of Decatur, Illinois; one
daughter, Marilee J. (William) Fields of Galesburg; one sister, Doris Williams
of Victoria, Illinois; four grandchildren, William (Catina) Fields II, Michael (Megan
Swearingen) Coziahr, Michele (Travis Orr) Coziahr, and Kim (Danny) Howerton;
six great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and
six sisters.
Marvin worked for the former
C.B. & Q. Railroad for 15 years and was an Operating Engineer for 25 years
out of Local #649. He was a member of
Local #649 Operating Engineers, O.A.K.S., Keithsburg Boat Club, and a former
member of the F.O. E. #518.
Funeral services will be 1:30
p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg
Chapel. Rev. Tom Ek will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the
service. Burial will be at Oak Lawn
