Mrs. Aline Mae Barkman,
90, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at
Seminary Manor in Galesburg.
She was born on July 9,
1925 in Center, Texas to James Edward and Alida Lee Magness. She married Frank Edward Barkman on November
25, 1942 in Logansport, Louisiana. He
preceded her in death in August 23, 2011.
Aline is survived by two
sons, Gary Wayne (and Dwana) Barkman of Brookhaven, Mississippi and Martin
Dwayne (and Pat) Barkman of Arlington, Texas; three daughters, Francesca Aline
(and Ed) Yeutson of Galesburg, Sharon Sue (and Rich) Nicholes of Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma, and Karen Sue (and Mike) Williams of Yukon, Oklahoma; 18
grandchildren, David, Lauri, Jennifer, Ben, Mindy, Kevin, Holly, Elise,
Natalie, Johan, Meghann, Aaron, Tori N., Tori M., Kayla, Allison, Conner, and
Hayden; and 21 plus great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents,
two brothers, and one sister.
She was a co-owner of
Frank’s Donuts in Granbury, Texas for 25 years, retiring in 2000. During this time Aline and Frank built the
home in Granbury where they lived for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Church of the
Nazarene in Granbury and later in Galesburg, where she was involved with many
of the church’s activities. She enjoyed
sewing, camping, and shopping. She was
proud to be the wife of a veteran for 68 years.
Funeral services will be
Saturday, January 23, 2016, at the Martin Funeral Home in Granbury, Texas. Burial will be in the Holly Cemetery in
Granbury. Memorials may be made to the
First Church of the Nazarene or the Defenders of Freedom Veterans Home, both in
