Betty L. Swise

Betty L. Swise, 76, of Maquon, Illinois passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11:10 P.M. at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois.

Betty was born March 25, 1939 in McDonough County, the daughter of Charles and Nellie Yocum.  She married James Swise on December 6, 1958 in Prairie City, Illinois. 

She worked for the Knox County Nursing in the Laundry Department for many years.  Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping (especially garage sales), and going to the riverboat.

Betty is survived by husband; James Swise of Maquon, Illinois, three children; Randy Swise of Knoxville, Illinois, Kim (and Scott) Guenther of Houston, Texas, Karrie (and Bill) Brooks of Great Falls, Montana, 9 grandchildren, 22, great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Viola Shaw of Macomb, Illinois, Irene Underwood of Monmouth, Illinois, and 1 great-grand-dog.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 5 sisters, and her son, Lester Swise.

Cremation rites will be accorded with the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.  Memorial contributions can be left to the Knox County Nursing Home. Online condolences may be left at www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com.
