Lois Ann Peterson, 87, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 8:45 P.M. at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois.
Lois was born on March 3, 1928 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Wallace and Dorothy (Grimm) Alderson. In 1949 she married Theodore Arthur Peterson in Galesburg, Illinois. Lois worked as a secretary for Wilson Paper Company and Admiral. She was a proud member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Shirley Temple fan. She also enjoyed playing cards and crocheting
Lois is survived by her daughter, Connie Braden of Alexis, Illinois, 3 granddaughters; Amber (and Marc) Muscarello of Texas, Allison (and Steve) Whitcher of Silvis, Illinois, Abby (and Matt) Wiles of Alexis, Illinois, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 siblings; Nancy (Harvey) Templeton of Galesburg, Illinois and Richard (and Louise) Alderson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Theodore Peterson, parents; Wallace and Dorothea Alderson, brother John Alderson, and son-in-law; Glen Braden Jr.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg, Illinois. Rev. Harold Berrian, Rev. Rollie Grauman, and Rev. Bonnie Grauman will officiate. Memorial contributions can be left to the First Church of the Nazarene. The Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois is assisting the family.
