Bud H. Steele, 81, of Monmouth, IL, died at 6:03 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL.
He was born September 1, 1934 in Monticello, Kentucky the son of Hops and Flora Betty (Dannell) Steele. He was raised and educated in Kentucky.
Bud married Ruby P. Waterman in Macomb, IL on March 25, 1963 and she survives.
Bud worked for a time at Glass-Tex. He later worked at Agar and Wilson Foods in Monmouth for 27 years.
He was of Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, yard work and fishing with Ruby. He loved going to auctions.
Survivors include his wife; son, Bud J. Steele of Terre Haute, IN; daughter, Betty Sue Steele of Monmouth; daughter in law, Amy Steele of Kirkwood; 6 grandchildren, Blaid Steele of Plymouth, IL, Darren Steele of Galesburg, Ashely Steele of Plymouth, IL, Austin Fry, Codi Register and Zachary Register all of Kirkwood, IL; 7 great grandchildren; brother, John Steele of Galesburg; sisters, Angie L. Creek of Galesburg and Mary S. Waterman of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Guy Steele and 1 sister, Helen Roller
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Cremation will take place following the visitation.
