Cherry C. Hanson, age 83, of rural Gilson, Illinois
died at 4:15 A.M. on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Knox County Nursing Home, in
Knoxville, Illinois.
Cherry was born on October 28, 1932 in rural Williamsfield,
Illinois the daughter of Carl and Eva Dosset Buck. She married Raymond Meece,
then married Marvin Melvin, Jr., then married Rollie E. Hanson, her husband of
42 years, on March 15, 1974 in Knoxville, Illinois.
Surviving is her husband, Rollie Hanson of Rural
Gilson, Illinois; two daughters, Becky (Doug) McBride of Knoxville, Illinois
and Kathy (Dave) Cole of Oneida, Illinois; eight grandchildren; fifteen great
grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Penny Johnson, three
sisters, Virginia, Flora and Polly and one brother, Earl.
She was a school bus driver for the Knoxville School
District for 35 years, retiring in 2015.
She sold Avon and raised Alaskan Malamutes and Pomeranians
at her home in rural Gilson, Illinois. She enjoyed going to garage sales
looking for bargains.
Cherry
lived life to the fullest. She was always quick to share a smile, a
story, or a joke with anyone. She constantly spoke of friends,
co-workers, and family that she loved and the joy they all brought to her life.
All of Cherry's 83 years on this earth were filled to the brim with friendship,
love and happiness.
As per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded
and there will be no services. A Register Book will be available at the Funeral
Home for friends to sign. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice
Compassus or to the Guardian Angels .Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory,
