Charlie “Chuck” Dilts Sr.

Charlie “Chuck” Dilts Sr., 84, of Ellisville, IL passed away at 8:55 AM on Tuesday May 17, 2016 at Prairie City Rehab and Health Care Center. He was born March 28, 1932 in Orion, IL to James and Cora (Kreider) Dilts. He married Patsy M. Bailey on October 16, 1954 in Prairie City, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are five children, Jackie Barton of Bushnell, IL; Diana (Randy) Moore of Farmington, IL; Patti Miller of Farmington, IL; Charlie Dilts Jr. of London Mills, IL; Tami Owens of Avon, IL; twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister and two grandsons.
Charlie worked for 18 years as a coal miner until the mines stopped operation. He also worked for Admiral in Galesburg and for Rock Island Steele. He later drove a truck and farmed something he had done his entire life. He was the Mayer of Ellisville for several years. He was the owner operator of Dilts Radiator and Repair in Avon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, flowers, planting trees but most of all spending time with his family. Charlie and Patsy where blessed with 61 years of marriage.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday May 20, 2016 at the Corman Memorial Home of Avon with Pastor Rick Weiss officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM one hour prior to the service.
