Jeremy T. Link

Jeremy T. Link, 40 of Galesburg and formerly of rural Delong, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Galesburg Cottage Hospital Emergency Room.
  He was born May 31, 1975 in Galesburg, the son of Alan L. and Ruth A. Morby Link.  His father preceded him in death on July 13, 1997.

  Jeremy is survived by his mother, Ruth A. Link of Knoxville; one brother, Rob and Joy Link and their children, Evan and Jack, of rural Delong; his maternal grandmother, Martha Morby of Galesburg; his Godparents, Dave and Ann Peck of Knoxville; and aunts, uncles, cousins and their families.

  He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Horace Morby and his paternal grandparents, Ernest and Glenna Link.

  He grew up on the family farm near Delong.  He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1994 and continued his education at the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport, Iowa, where he received his Associate Degree in Broadcasting.  Jeremy lived in the Quad Cities after college and worked at the Quad Cities Radio Group as a broadcaster and producer.  He also worked a couple of summers in the broadcast booth and in sales for the Quad Cities River Bandits.  He moved back to Galesburg in 2013.  He was a NASCAR fan and die-cast race car collector and he enjoyed collecting anything with Coca-Cola on it.  He attended Orange Chapel United Methodist Church in his earlier years.

  Cremation will be accorded.  To celebrate his life, the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Knoxville United Methodist Church, 303 S. Broad St. in Knoxville, followed by a prayer service led by Rev. Dan Lybager. Burial of his ashes will be in the Haynes Cemetery near Delong.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

  Memorials may be made to the Knoxville High School FFA or the Delong Livestock
