MR. JAMES V. TABONE

Mr. James V. Tabone, 92 of Galesburg, Illinois died at 6:45 pm Friday, May 13, 2016 at Montrose Health Care Center in Montrose, Iowa.

He was born February 27, 1924 in Galesburg the son of Joseph and Rose Ciaccia Tabone. He married Janet G. Myren on July 4, 1951 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2010.

James is survived by his son, Steve (Darlene) Tabone of Keokuk, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

James served in the US Navy Pacific Theatre during WWII.

He worked as a sheet metal cutter for Admiral/Maytag Corporation for over 30 years, retiring in 1986.  James graduated from Galesburg High School in 1942. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening and doing his yardwork. James was a true gentleman, he enjoyed people and spending time with his friends and family.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 am Thursday, May 19, 2016 in Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rev. William Miller will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 pm Wednesday at the chapel.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
