John M. Patterson

John M. Patterson, 59 of Alexis, IL passed away on Monday June 6, 2016, 7:05 am at his home.  He was born September 16, 1956 in Galesburg, IL the son of Donald E. and Marlene “Deed” (Swanson) Patterson.  He married Debra Molinari on January 28, 1984.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Debra of Alexis, IL; Children Samantha (Josh) Dunn of Little York, IL, Cheryl Patterson of Evanston, IL, Melissa Patterson of Galesburg, IL, Marci (Brian) Bertelsen of Alexis, Il, and Megan Patterson of Alexis, IL; 4 grandchildren Jacob, John, Lauryn, and Addilynn; parents Truman and Marlene Nehls; one brother Michael Patterson of Galesburg, IL; two step sisters Elisabeth Templeton of Woodstock, GA, and Teresa Johnson of Lakeland, FL.  He was preceded in death by his father Donald Patterson.

John graduated Alexis High School in 1975. He was the quarterback his Sr. year when Alexis football team went to state and were runners up in 1974.  He attended Western Illinois University and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration.  He was in the A.G.R. Fraternity.  He enjoyed coaching softball and basketball teams with his children.  He worked for BNSF for 34 years.  He was an avid Yankee’s and Packer fan.  He loved his family especially his grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Thursday June 9, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at the Wise Family ~ Hoover Hall Funeral Home Alexis, IL.  Burial will be in the Alexis Cemetery Alexis, IL.  Visitation will be Wednesday Evening June 8, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Wise Family ~ Hoover Hall Funeral Home Alexis, IL.  Memorials may be made to A.L.S. and /or American Heart Association.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamily-hooverhall.com.
