William James “Bill” Keith

William James “Bill” Keith, 68, of Galesburg, died at 11:25 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016 at home.

He was born August 14, 1947, in Galesburg the son of James and Eleanor (Harrison) Keith.  He married Joan Berry on April 22, 1978 in Galesburg. 

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joan; a daughter, Libby (and Joel) Zaiser of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Hannah, Brady and Ellie, brother-in-law, Mark (and Theresa) Berry, four nephews, and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Keith in 2001; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Bessie Berry and a sister, Jackie Maxwell.

Bill worked in sales for R & B Distributing Company for 35 years and at G & M Distributors for six years, retiring in 2013.  He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1966 and attended Blackhawk College.

Bill was a member of Covenant Church.  He formerly served on the Little League Board of Directors.  He was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan.  He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his three grandchildren.  He loved them immensely, and could often be found at a softball or baseball diamond, a basketball court, or a dirt bike track. 

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel.  Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the chapel with Rev. Jim Ecklund officiating.  Private burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be made to Silas Willard School, 460 Fifer St., or FISH Food Pantry.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
