Doris W. Cheek

Doris W. Cheek age 95 of Macomb, IL formerly of Bushnell, IL passed away at 8:07 A.M. Wednesday July 27, 2016 at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb, IL.  She was born on May 29, 1921 in Bushnell, IL to William and Julia Hartley Campbell.  She married Russell C. Cheek in Clinton, Iowa on September 24, 1940 and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2004. Doris is survived by 1 Son and 2 Daughters – R. Benjamin (Eva) Cheek of Fort Smith, AR, Rebecca (Dick) Clarke of Daphne, AL, and Julie (Steven) Vestal of Peoria, IL, 5 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by her Parents, 1 Brother and 1 Sister. 

Doris wrote a column for the McDonough Democrat for many years, she enjoyed oil painting and she also wrote a book of Poems.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday July 30, 2016 and the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell, IL with visitation being held 1 hour prior to the time of services at the Funeral Home on Saturday.  Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.  Please sign the guestbook or leave condolences athttp://www.martinhollisfh.com/.
