Edna Catherine Yarde

Edna Catherine Yarde, 90, of Galesburg, Ill., died at 1:38 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born November 8, 1925 in rural Smithshire, Ill., the daughter of Ezra L. and Amy F. (Brent) Ross. She married Lee A. Yarde on July 21, 1947 in Monmouth, Ill. He preceded her in death November 18, 1993.
Surviving is her son, Robert L. and Cheryl Yarde of Alexis, Ill., her two grandchildren Rita Wilcox and her husband C.C. of Galesburg, and Tyler Yarde of Peoria, Ill., two Great Grandchildren Vida Wilcox and Sydney Wilcox., one niece Lois Marie Schisler and her husband Jerry.. She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Mary Catherine, and her sister and brother in law Anna Mary and Harold Ruble.
Edna worked as a teacher and also a grocery store clerk. She graduated from Roseville High School and attended Western Illinois University for two years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s Group.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday September 20, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel Galesburg with Rev. Mary Runge officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
