Lois Naydean Janes, 88, of Macomb, formerly of Galesburg, died at 9:37 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb.
She was born August 27, 1928, in East Galesburg, the daughter of
Clarence and Nora (Simmons) Leadbetter. She married Fay Wilson Janes on
December 6, 1945 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death May 21, 2005.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie (and Paul) Neill of Good Hope; a
son-in-law, Dale Miskimins of Elkton, South Dakota; five grandchildren;
three step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nine step great
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her
husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and two daughters,
Carolyn Janes on July 4, 1999 and Susan Miskimins on March 30, 2016.
Lois was a talented seamstress and made beautiful wedding and birthday
cakes for others. She enjoyed dancing, singing, traveling in her camper
with Fay, and playing cards and games with her grandchildren. She was a
member of First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Lois was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Galesburg. She
earned her GED from Galesburg High School.
Cremation will be accorded. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday,
September 17, 2016 in Memorial Park Cemetery in Galesburg. Rev. Gordon
Blankenship will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorial
contributions may be made to Humane Society of McDonough County or
Shriners Hospital for Children. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors
and Cremation Services of Galesburg is handling arrangements for the
