Mr. Robert N. “Bob”
Greene, 76, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 2:00 am Thursday,
September 22, 2016 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
He was born February 15,
1940 in Galesburg the son of Harold and Dorothy Linder Greene. He
married Sara Hamilton in 1960 in Galesburg. He later married Mary M.
Harvey on June 24, 1977 in Moline, Illinois. She preceded him in
death on June 6, 1990.
He is survived by three
sons, Bryan and Tim Greene both of Galesburg and Jeff Greene of
Boulder, Colorado; his sister, Joann (Walt) Dagen of Galesburg four
grandchildren, Ashley, Ozzy, Christopher and Megan, three great
grandchildren and a special friend, Joan Woods of Oneida, Illinois.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judy Logsdon.
Bob worked at Maytag
Corporation for 4 years. He was a firefighter for the City of
Galesburg for 20 years and had co-owned and operated, with Thomas
Lockhart, L&G Motors in Galesburg for 5 years. Bob graduated from
Galesburg High School in 1958 and Carl Sandburg College with an
associate’s degree in 1969. He was a member of the Retired
Firefighters Association.
Cremation will be
accorded. A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday,
September 28, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev.
James Ecklund will officiate. Memorials may be made to American
