Ruth M. Simpson

Ruth Marion Finley Simpson age 96, of Oneida, died on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in her home. Ruth was born on the 26th of April, in 1920.

Ruth`s parents were Clifford L. Finley and Nellie Mae Watson.

Ruth was married to Roy Simpson in 1934. Ruth worked at the Galesburg Mental Health Hospital for 26 years. She started working there in 1958 as a Technician 3.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Hugh Simpson, brother, Wayne Watson Finley, and granddaughter Annamarie Ruth Simpson Whitehead

Ruth is survived by her two children, daughter, Margaret Ruth Flickinger of Galesburg, Illinois (husband Donald) and son, David Leroy Simpson (wife Tita) of Georgia. Grandchildren, Debra Flickinger Pfab (husband Steve), Julie Flickinger Kellie (husband John), Anthony Wayne Simpson and Shannon Brian Simpson. Great- grandchildren, Marc Simpson, Amanda Simpson and Brittney Simpson. Nephew and Nieces Larry S. Finley, Alice D. Call, Marion Underwood, and Anna M. Love. Along with many other beloved family members throughout Illinois and surrounding states.

Ruth was under the care of OSF Hospice Western Region, the loving care of family members, and her dear friend Shelli. She also had support and comfort from her companion dogs BB Ruth Simpson Taylor and BT Simpson.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Saint Aloysius Catholic Church in Wataga, Illinois at 5:00 PM. Father Deus-Dadit Byabato will be officiating.
