Ventura
Maciel, 89, of Galesburg, died at 9 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016
at Heartland Health Care.
Ventura
was born July 13, 1927 in Fort Madison, IA the daughter of Pordifo
and Juanita Andrade Moreno. She married Walter Maciel on July 1,
1950 in Ft. Madison, IA. Ventura is survived by two sons, Ludger
(Marti) Maciel and Vincent Maciel both of Galesburg; three daughters,
Anna (John) Allen and Marguerite (Kevin) McCoy, both of Galesburg and
Janice (Larry) Nimmo of Amarillo, TX; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her
husband, Walter on December 14, 2000; a daughter, Valerie Cozad on
July 14, 2016; one brother; and two sisters.
Ventura
worked for Sheaffer Pen Company while living in Ft. Madison. After
moving to Galesburg, she worked for Gross Galesburg and retired from
Carhartt in 1985. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic
Church. Ventura considered any time with family and friends time
well spent. While living at Heartland she enjoyed attending many
activities.
Funeral
Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Corpus Christi
Catholic Church. Rev. William Miller, IC will officiate. Burial
will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg. No visitation is
planned. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas
Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to
Corpus Christi Catholic Church or to Heartland Activities fund.
