Patricia “Pat” A. Broadfield, 80 of Knoxville, passed away at
2:50 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 at her home with her family at
her side.
She was born on August 7, 1936 near
Roseville, the daughter of Dale T. and Frieda Markland Bond. She
married Lawrence Stoneking and they later divorced. After living
with Jim Broadfield for 17 years, they married on October 23, 2004 in
Galesburg.
Pat is survived by her loving husband, Jim;
her children, Perry (Paula Woolsey) Stoneking of Knoxville, Carolyn
(Brian McGrew) Stoneking of rural Knoxville, Travis (Jennifer)
Stoneking of East Galesburg and a stepson, Toby (Debra) Broadfield of
Normal; eight grandchildren, Donnie (Patti) Stoneking, Kris
Stoneking, Jake Landon, Jerid Landon, Jensen Stoneking, Graysen
Stoneking, Emily Broadfield and Katie Broadfield; ten
great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth (Jim) Benbow of Knoxville; and
her pet dachshunds dogs, Ginger and Molly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and
one sister, Marcia Kaletsch.
She graduated from Abingdon High School in
1954. She had lived in Abingdon for several years and in the
Knoxville area for the past 30 years. She worked at Admiral/Maytag
for 30 years, retiring in 1996. She enjoyed taking care of her yard,
especially the flower gardens, crocheting, sewing clothes for her
children in their younger years and making crafts. She loved
spending time with family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m.
Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Abingdon Cemetery with Eleanor Landon
officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at
Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.
