Marilyn Joyce Tompkins, 81 of Abingdon, formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died at 8:50
P.M. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Care Center of Abingdon.
She was born on March 17, 1935 in Peoria, Illinois the daughter of Howard and

Mary Towne. She was raised and educated in the Peoria area. She married John
Quincy Tompkins and he preceded her in death.
Marilyn owned and operated J.T.’s Bar and Package in Galesburg for many years.

Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Jill (Buster) Tompkins of Galesburg, Illinois and
