Lewis
R. Larson, 98, of Galesburg, died at 6:15 p.m. Monday, January 16,
2017 in Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg.
He
was born March 18, 1918 in a farm house in western Nebraska to
Herbert C. and Nellie E. (Nelson) Larson. He graduated from
Knoxville High School and married Dorothy Coulter on January 15, 1943
in Galesburg. He then went off to the war with the Army Air Corp and
was involved in the Burma Hump operation. After the war he farmed in
the Alexis area for 45 years.
Lewis
is survived by one son, Russell of Galesburg. He was preceded in
death by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy, on March 4, 1999; his
parents; one brother Phillip; and four sisters, Faye Jones, Idella
Maranville, Joan Gabriel, and Betty Van Winkle.
Cremation
rites will be accorded and no services are planned. Arrangements
have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory,
