Dorothea E. Glancy, 94, of Monmouth, IL died at 3:30 p.m.
Sunday, February 5, 2017 at her home.
She was born March 15, 1922 in Burlington, IA, the daughter
of Ross C. and Ethyl May (Thursh) Lant.
She was raised and educated in Burlington and graduated from Burlington
High School in 1940. Dorothea later went
back to school to become a Physical Therapy Assistant.
Dorothea married Arthur J. Glancy on May 22, 1949 in
Burlington, IA and he passed away on November 27, 1966.
Dorothea was a physical therapy assistant at Monmouth
Hospital for many years, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of D.A.R., Order of the Eastern Star and
the Monmouth Methodist church. Dorothea
loved to travel and read.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen M. Glancy of
Monmouth; two nephews, Gary (Kathy) Lant of Ft. Madison, IA, Dennis (Jodi)
Hollinger-Lant of Seattle, WA, and one niece, Connie (Ken) Bruner of California. Also surviving are dear friends, Katrina
Coppejans of Monmouth, and Linda (Shawn) Hart of Monmouth. .
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and
daughter, Maureen Glancy.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 9,
2017 at Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, IA. No visitation hours are
planned. Memorials may be given to the
Strom Center, Monmouth or Beacon of Hope Hospice. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and
