Edwin L. Johnson

Edwin L. Johnson, 85, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg.
He was born on November 12, 1931 in Farmington, Illinois to Charles C. and Phylida P. Van Dusen Johnson. He married Pauline Clendenon in Galesburg on November 19, 1956. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2012.
Edwin is survived by a daughter, Ronda Beth Richardson of Red Bay, Alabama; a nephew, Alan Beasley of Galesburg; three grand-daughters, Heather, Karla and Beth; a great-grandson, Zachary Bennett; a great grand-daughter, Leslie Dawn Brewer and a great-great-granddaughter. Aside from his wife, Edwin was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
He worked at Gale Products, a division of Outboard Marie Corporation for 30 years, retiring on May 14, 1984. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and playing golf in the Gale golf league and the Dew Dusters.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2017 in Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Scott Wilson officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
