Carroll “Casey” Kelley, 98 of Wales, WI. Formerly of Galesburg
died March 29, 2017 at Wilkinson Woods Assisted Living in Oconomowoc, WI. He was born October 6, 1918 in Mercer County,
Il. He was the son of Daniel and Ester
(Griffen) Kelley. Casey married Bernice
Owen in Cahokia, MO on July 19, 1941 and she preceded him in death February 16,
2008.
He is survived by his son Dan(Lydia) Kelley of Wales, WI;
three grandchildren Matthew Dan (Cathy) Kelley of Bozeman, MT, David E. (Angie)
Kelley of Dubuque, IA and Casey Ann (Brian) Krueger of Oconomowoc, WI and nine
Great Grandchildren.
He was Preceded in Death by his parents, wife, four
brothers, and one sister.
He was raised and educated in Alexis, graduating from Alexis
High School. Casey served in U.S. Army 495th AAA Gun Battalion during WWII
in the European Theatre. He served in
Iceland, Britain, France(Normandy), Belgium (The battle of the Bulge) and
Germany. Upon his discharge from the
service he returned to Alexis where he farmed for a number of years near north
Henderson. He lived in Galesburg for 50 years while working as an auto mechanic
and machinist at C & E Motor Supply in Monmouth. In 2007, he and his wife moved to Wales, WI
to be near family. He was a member of
the Alexis Masonic Lodge and Alexis American Legion Post. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal Fan.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside committal Service will be 2:30 p.m.
Saturday April 8, 2017 in Alexis Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday after 10:00 A.M. at Wise Family-Hoover Hall Funeral Home in
Alexis where his family will be present from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made
