Janice C. Sloan

Janice C. Sloan, 69, of Avon, IL passed away Sunday March 19, 2017 at 2:05 p.m. at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center Galesburg, IL.  She was born Friday July 18, 1947 in Breese, IL the daughter of Elmer and Laura (Bellamy) Moss.  Her father was killed in a coal mining accident before she was born and she was raised by her mother and stepfather Russell and Laura Tracy.   She married Roger Sloan on September 25, 1965.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Roger of Avon; children Cheri (Rodney) Gabbert of LaGrange, KY, Dr. Doug Sloan of Avon, IL; 2 grandchildren Zachary and Courtney; siblings Aurth Moran of Beardstown, IL, Diane Yancy of Durham, MO, Dave Moss of San Diego, CA, Brian Moss of Galesburg, IL, Phyllis Montgomery of Brookfield, MO, Freda Dietch of Jacksonville, IL and Chuck Tracy of Beardstown, IL.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother Butch Tracy.

She worked and retired from Maytag after 25 yeas.  She liked to read and loved her dogs, she is survived by her 3 miniature schnauzers, Watson, Holes, and Bailey.

Graveside service will be Thursday March 23, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at the Avon Cemetery, Avon, IL.  Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamily-hooverhall.com.  Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
