Anthony L. Sibley, Sr.

Anthony L. Sibley, Sr. 64, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 3:00 pm Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

He was born November 23, 1952 in Galesburg the son of Harold W. and Versie June Williams Sibley. He married Debra Grey. He later married Darlena Rosa Stanley.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Versie June Hollowell of Galesburg; his step mother, Barbara Sibley of Portland, Oregon; two daughters, Tonya L. (Ameche) Byrd of Jonesboro, Georgia and Tiffany A. (Bridget) Sibley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three step sons; his siblings, Rev. Jon (Vicki) Sibley, Virgil T. (Lisa) Sibley, Dennis (Lisa) Sibley, Sonja Sibley all of Galesburg, Tracy Sibley of Kansas City, Missouri and Troy L. Sibley of Galesburg; one step brother, Anthony (Sharon) Sibley of Portland; two step sisters, Ellie (Larry) Sibley-Brown of Portland and Donna Williams of Gig Harbor, Washington; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, his son Anthony L. Sibley, Jr. on December 19, 2002, two sisters, Spring and Gwen Sibley and his brother, Dexter Sibley.

Anthony graduated from Galesburg High School in 1971. He worked for the United States Post Office for over 40 years, retiring on May 1, 2015. He was a devoute member of the Jimmy Swaggert SBN church and was active in the Crosswalk Chapel Church in Pekin, Illinois. Anthony served as past pastor of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church. Pawpaw as he was affectionately called, was an avid sports fan, who loved the Chicago Bulls. He loved his grandchildren and reading and spreading the word of God, Anthony never knew a strange.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Monday, April 3, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Pastor Mark Bassen officiating. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 pm Sunday at the chapel. A Private family burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
