Francis Bernard Kane, 91, of Roseville, IL passed away
Friday April 7, 2017, 12:45 a.m. at his home.
He was born Sunday March 21, 1926 in… the son of Edmond and Alice (Boylan)
Kane. He married Mary Florence Thompson
on February 23, 1957, she preceded him on May 23, 2016.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children Edmond
Francis (Kelly) Kane of Media, IL, Mary Rose (Stan) Day of Macomb, IL, William
Joseph (Linda) Kane of Roseville, IL and Connie Jean (Rick) Elting of Macomb,
IL; grandchildren: Lindsey (Grant) Curtis, Kourtney (Ryan) McClure, Matt Kane,
Luke Kane, Ryan Day, Brittany Day, Ashton Day, Jackson Kane, Drew Kane, Reese
Kane, Mitchell (Lesli) Elting, Hannah Elting, Nathan Elting, Nick Elting; great
grandchildren: Kane Curtis, Levi McClure, and Macy McClure; one sister Alice
Brokaw of Stronghurst, IL. He was
preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 grandson (Nolan Kane).
Francis served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1957 and was
stationed in Germany for 1 ½ years. He
lived and farmed in Point Pleasant Township since 1928. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic
Church and served on the Church board there.
He was a member of the Warren County Farm Bureau and also the Warren
County Rural Youth. He was a member of
the American Legion. Francis and his
daughter Connie went on the Honor Flight on June 19, 2012.
Funeral Mass will be Monday April 10, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at
St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Raritan, IL with Monsignor Thomas Mack, Father
Tom Otto, and Father Lee Brokaw officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, April 9, 2017 from 3:30-6:30 p.m.
with Rosary at 3:00 p.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville, IL. Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Catholic
Cemetery, Raritan, IL. Memorials may be
