Norma Jean Lucas

Norma Jean Lucas, 89, of Alexis, IL passed away Saturday April 22, 2017 at Heartland Healthcare Center Galesburg, IL.  She was born Thursday April 19, 1928, the daughter of Lawrence and Nellie (Adcock) Vance.  She married William W. Lucas in Coldbrook, IL on July 6, 1946, he preceded her in death on August 8, 2010.

Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Larry Lucas of Henderson, IL, one grandson, Aaron Lucas of Kenosha, WI, two brothers, David Vance of Rock Island, IL and Kenneth Vance of Galesburg, IL, along with nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and one sister Alice Osgood.

Norma was raised and educated in Galesburg, IL.  She was a seamstress, having worked at Formfit in Monmouth and Gross Manufacturing and Protexall Manufacturing in Galesburg, IL.  She enjoyed sewing, reading, and couponing.  She was a member of the North Henderson United Methodist Church and its Friendship Class.  She was also a member of the Alexis Woman’s Club, North Henderson Lion’s Club and the Home Extension Kelly Unit.

Funeral service will be Wednesday April 26, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at the Wise Family Hoover Hall Funeral Home Alexis, IL.  Burial will be in the Alexis Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday April 26, 2017 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the Wise Family Hoover Hall Funeral Home Alexis, IL.  Memorials may be made to the North Henderson United Methodist Church.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamily-hooverhall.com.  Wise Family Funeral Home Alexis, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
